Can Biden and Trump cut the deal of the century?
The Hill ^ | 09/21/2023 | EMIL W. HENRY, JR

According to a recent Wall Street Journal poll, the four prosecutions bedeviling former President Donald Trump are deemed illegitimate by a plurality of the country. Meanwhile, the House of Representatives is heading towards an impeachment inquiry targeting President Joe Biden — which will likely be deemed equally suspect by a separate plurality of the nation.

Trump’s and Biden’s legal challenges, symptoms of the country’s broader struggle with extreme partisanship, are mirror images in that each candidate’s supporters embrace the rule of law in one case while railing against its misuse in the other. It all has the feel of a holy war, where compromise is impossible, and normalcy is subordinated to each opposing side’s perceived truth and higher purpose.

Hahaha. Ridiculous. First off, that pledge is worth as much as !Jebs pledge to support the nominee. Secondly, this has always been what they wanted. A way to get rid of Trump. They don’t care about Biden. Non starter!!!

It’s time for the deal of the century. Trump and Biden could mutually agree to drop from the race...

Your TDS is showing.

One point: A federal pardon does not apply to state and local indictments which would go on with vicious prosecutors and 99% Dem juries on the prowl against Trump and his family and supporters.

I’m still in favor of buying Greenland.

People laughed, but that would’ve been one of the great land purchases in United States History.

Seems like a bad idea to make a 'deal' with a proven habitual liar and cheater.

Does anyone see the obvious stupidity of this? What do you think would happen next?

Hell yeah! There’s at least 52 billion barrels of oil that are untapped in Greenland. That’s a 2008 estimate. Considering advances in extraction techniques there’s probably much more oil. Greenland also has massive mineral reserves. Kvanefjeld rare earths project has over 100 million tons of rare earths.

Drill and dig baby! Drill and dig!

The author sounds worried about something. Here's the problem:

In the case of Trump, it is becoming obvious that these prosecutions are bogus. In the case of Biden, it is becoming evident he has been involved in criminal activity, including bribery and potentially treason, but is being protected by the Deep State.

This would be like giving 6 billion dollars to a hostile power who is holding US citizens hostage.

I'm thinking there may be some afraid a reckoning is coming. There are factions going the scorched earth route, but others realize what that will do, and are trying to defuse the situation.

"It all has the feel of a holy war, where compromise is impossible"

Emil W. Henry, Jr., formerly U.S. Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, is CEO of private equity firm Tiger Infrastructure Partners.

Sounds like someone who is worried about his millions/billions of $$$ going up in smoke (or worse)!

I think compromise is extremely unlikely.

It has all the feel of US Civil War 2.0 *.

(* A civil war does not require hundreds of thousands of casualties, as was the case in the first US Civil War. "The common scholarly definition has two main criteria. The first says that the warring groups must be from the same country and fighting for control of the political center, control over a separatist state or to force a major change in policy. The second says that at least 1,000 people must have been killed in total, with at least 100 from each side.")

It is starting to seem that way. Is it possible they have no more cards up their sleeves left to play? We’re seeing less of the defiance that we normally see from them. There seems to be something different this time around. When was the last time we heard the left talk of compromise?

It’s time for the deal of the century. Trump and Biden could mutually agree to drop from the race subject to these conditions: -Their legal jeopardy ends. The New York, Georgia, Florida, and Washington D.C. prosecutions, and the House inquiry, are all dropped. -All major Republican and Democratic presidential candidates sign a pledge to pardon Trump, Biden — and their family members — if elected president.

An what kind of precedent would that set?

No deal. This sounds like a feeler from the regime. A deal would be useless. The Democrats will still steal the election.

The Rats will agree to the deal and then renege once DJT is off the ballot. It simply not enough for them to see him off the ballot...they actually want him behind bars.

Sounds good to me but I know the Liberals would scream hands off if we wanted to do Drilling in Greenland.

Similar to how Joe Biden has shut down exploration in Alaska any Democratic Administration would shut down Greenland , even if we did own Greenland and had mineral rights there

Btw, talking about Greenland is more important than some half baked deal between Biden and Trump. Of course the leftists would have fits over drilling and digging. I’d love nothing more to see them go crazy.
