A new survey suggests former President Donald Trump is the only Republican candidate who can defeat Joe Biden and retake the White House in 2024. Conducted on behalf of the Democracy Institute, a center-right think tank based in Washington, D.C., the survey of 1,500 likely voters found that Trump leads Biden 49 to 45 percent in a head-to-head general election matchup. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis would lose to Biden, 47 to 43 percent.
In addition to revealing the potential strength of a Trump presidential candidacy, the Democracy Institute survey found 67 percent of voters think Joe Biden is too old to continue serving as President. Fifty-six percent of respondents also say they believe President Biden is corrupt.
The Democracy Institute survey echoes other Republican primary polls that show former President Trump holding a near-insurmountable lead over the rest of the candidates. Trump currently holds 60 percent of the vote, while Ohio businessman Vivek Ramaswamy edges out Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for second place, each at 13 percent and 12 percent respectively.
Ron DeSantis’s presidential campaign suffered another negative news cycle over the past week. The pro-DeSantis SuperPAC’s pollster WPA Intelligence was caught trying to pass off anti-Trump op-ed in Newsweek without disclosing that the firm is connected to the DeSantis campaign. Billionaire mega-donor Ken Griffin, an early supporter of DeSantis, blasted the ‘unclear’ campaign and said he would be sitting on the sidelines for the rest of the primary. Meanwhile, the Trump campaign announced it had double the DeSantis campaign’s pledge voter support for the Iowa caucus, despite being outspent in the state by the Florida Governor 5-to-1.

The reason voters say Trump is the only Republican who can beat Biden is because Trump is the opposite of the GOPe. He stands for things; the party stands for nothing.
It’s a complete no brainer. Those who have yet to figure this out or not too bright.
Trump is the only MAGA candidate.

The only time the GOP ever gets exercised or shows some teeth is when they are going after another Republican. They whine and posture a lot but never really go after their Democrat colleagues. The GOP is a fake party IMO.

Beating Biden shouldn't be a problem for a lot of Republicans, but beating Biden is not just going up against the blank looking dolt we see aimlessly wandering across various stages. It's really beating the fraud and the media who are complicit in the fraud. Only Donald J. Trump can do that. Smart Republican voters should have figured out by now that no one else could withstand the beating Trump has taken since he came down that golden escalator in June 2015, and not only take the beating, but give it back as good as he got and still be one of the great Presidents in history.
Trump could preform a mexcan hat dance on it.
All I can say on that is:
A. Focus on Biden is a dangerous diflection for the GOP. He is not the issue, really, his policies are, and he is neither their author nor their main source. Biden’s policies are the Obama programs on steroids and his minions in the Biden adminsitration are behind them. Biden is only the card board cut out stand in, not the man in charge.
B. Focus on “Biden” is a dangerous deflection for the GOP. He is out. He did his job in two $trillion plus major policy , spending and regulation mandating pieces of legislation plus the open border and now the Dims are going to dump him and put a more intelligent well spoken face in his place. That face will not have to even mention Biden, it will “intelligentrly” defend the policies implemted by the Leftist Dims while Biden hid in his basement.
C. The general election will not be “Biden vs Trump”. It will be a younger, smarter, intelligent good talking Dim face on a campaign (with Biden out of the way) focused 100% on Trump, Trump, Trump. And the media will be with them.
Focus on Biden is a diversion and a deflection. He will not be the candidate (his “campaign” has less than ten staffers). The sooner the GOP, including Trump, gets out of campaigning againt Biden the better.
Campaign against the Dims in the Senate, against the Dims in the House, against the things they have supported, against their failure to hold Biden accountable, to their spending desires, to their failure to hold Biden accountable for the crisis at the Border - all things the Dims in the House wanted to see happen no matter who was their face in the White House.
The problem is the Democrats, not Biden. He will be dumped because the machinery behind hims knows they need a better face. A better face for what? A better face to continue doing what they had Biden do.
The GOP is going to lose if it thinks Biden is the problem.
