The mother of late General Hospital star Billy Miller said that he died at the age of 43 via suicide.

This is separate from my post above - I never met the deceased in person, didn’t know the family personally, just work for someone who does/did.
I used to work in Hollywood as a kid - crew, not cast, thank god. I worked with and knew/know a number of celebrities at the time and am still in touch with a few. Leaving aside the people who start out mentally disturbed, the Hollywood-style culture is toxic and lethal; a great many of those who go awry in Hollywood would actually have done fine in the real world - shown by the people that realized what was happening to them and retired/quit to go back to the real world. The way that culture works is not unlike some ancient courts of royalty, where nobody will tell the truth to your face, everyone is out to get something from you and nothing is real. It really can take a toll on otherwise normal people. It’s not unprecedented - you have but to look back in history to find a long, long chain of examples of people that had everything but were corrupted and eventually destroyed. Look at what happens to most lottery winners, too - winning the lottery often destroys the winner.
For those with prior mental illness... oh boy. Working as cast in Hollywood will only make any mental problems you are predisposed to far, far, far worse. Hollywood and LA in general eats its own.
Or, put another way, it is entirely possible to sit amongst your vast riches and realize you have nothing and nobody real. That you should have the world, but instead have naught. That your entire life is a lie (I mean, if you are an actor, you are literally lying to an audience for money by pretending to be someone else - at a minimum) and that you may no longer be able to recognize the truth. If you are religious, you may realize that you thought you were doing good but in fact have done nothing to earn heaven.
That’s a very, very hard thing to swallow when you wake up one morning.
One of my fav childhood actors, Brian Keith, did the same. He was in his 80s, dying of cancer.

He was battling manic depression for years. On top he was diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disease called PSP, also known as “Parkinson’s on steroids “. He was going to go downhill very quickly.

He was so brilliant on Y&R, especially portraying the grief when his character’s little daughter was killed by a car. He left soon after that. Wondering in hindsight if that part of his scripts was too much for him. It was utterly harrowing to watch him and his screen wife Chloe lose a child.
So very sad for his mother and sister, and his close colleagues, like Elizabeth Hendrickson, Amelia Heinle and Peter Bergman. They already went through this with Kristoff St John not long ago. It’s a tough business, being what you’re not.
I worked in the arts for 40 years, with the fragile personalities behind the beautifully projected fronts; and have experienced the suicide of a friend or colleague four times. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.
RIP, lovely Billy.

Re: 1 - What it really comes down to is ignorance, malicious ignorance, and in some cases low intellect for people that rush to claim a death is due to the COVID-19 vaccine.
They simply either don’t know, or have deficient intellectual capability. and that is a contributing factor in claiming deaths are due to the vaxx.

I read somewhere today: every woman fell a little in love with Billy after watching him. So true. I was a big fan and mentioned a few weeks ago (again) that he is the only Billy and Y&R needs him back. I worked on 3 soaps when I was in the business and love the actors. I love everything about daytime serials. When people dream of working in the movies, my dream was always to work in daytime.
I didn’t say that was my belief, I said that was what those people will wake up thinking.
I wonder if Billy had gotten a bit more emotional grounding, such as getting married and having kids, might’ve helped him a bit. He never did seem to find the right person. I know he was dating Kelly Monaco for a bit when they were on GH together. Sad to see, now at 47, she’ll probably never have kids, either.
Then again, poor Kristoff St. John died of a broken heart after losing his son too young. Some of the folks on the soaps can have just as dramatic personal lives as their characters, and then some.
It's a great insult to his memory, since he won a lot of industry awards and played in every major daytime series, and several other venues as well — whereas she was scraped from the D-list before she slept her way to infamy.
He deserved better.
