Trump went to bat for Paxton immediately, without hesitation and was forceful. Go find his truth immediately after this happened. Doesn’t matter, ultimately. Trump backed him, did it help him? Who cares, he was acquitted. I very much appreciate that Trump immediately called for the speaker to resign.
Doubtful he had that big an impact. The house rushed through this turd sandwich at the end of a session. By the time it got to the senate all the republicans had time to be threatened by their constituents.
I would not be surprised to see some house turnover as a result of this.

How is he all that much different from any other politician? They all jump to take credit for things they didn’t do; they claim to know everything about everything until there’s a problem that they don’t want to be associated with and then they declare complete ignorance; and they always find someone else to pin any blame on. Its the nature of the beast.
Trump is not all that unique. Just a lot more visible than most.
