Donald Trump on Sunday said it was “my decision” to believe that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged” — saying he didn’t respect the aides and lawyers who’d told him he’d lost.
The former president, 77, was asked by NBC’s Kristen Welker on “Meet the Press” why he opted to ignore his “most senior lawyers” and campaign staffers about the election results.
“Because I didn’t respect them,” Trump replied.
Welker later asked the Republican frontrunner in the presidential primary whether he was “calling the shots … ultimately?”
“As to whether or not I believed it was rigged? Oh, sure,” Trump answered. “It was my decision. But I listened to some people.”

Last month, Trump attorney John Lauro publicly emphasized that his client’s actions to thwart the election results were done under the advice of counsel.
“Everything that President Trump did was with the advice of lawyers and counsel,” Lauro told NBC. “That’s an absolute defense to a criminal case.”
“This is a protocol you can follow — it’s legal.” ***
“Trump just threw his whole ‘following my lawyers’ advice’ defense under the bus. No, let me correct that: — not just under the bus but under a roaring, speeding, ginormous freight train . . . .,” Harvard University professor emeritus Laurence Tribe***
“And here is where Trump loses his defense that he relied on his lawyers,” attorney and former Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-Va.) said.
There goes the “advice of counsel” defense.
Seriously, if your defense *** is “@MZHemingway wrote a book” you know you’re going to lose at trial. https://t.co/8bfmW5Ku0S

Ya & any time people have a disagreement on substance doesn’t make them a deep stater. I’m quite capable of spotting those types a million miles away. It certainly isn’t helpful to cry wolf & cheapen the well deserved harsh meaning of those words. Nobody is bent out of shape about anything, and if they, it certainly wouldnt be because you’ve presented anything other than a bias & a whole lot of innuendo. You are not convincing in the least. It’s more akin to a monkey trying to whack a square peg into a round hole 🙈🙉🙊😉😬
It will have your marbles to keep it company

Come to think of it, since Trump left the White House, he is again surrounded by lawyers…
Why waste time on Meet the Press? Few watch it and those that do won’t be voting for him anyway.
I don’t think he lost either. It’s not a crime to think democrats cheat in elections. Gore didn’t think he lost. Look at Chicago and Kennedy = it was a badge of honor for democrats to think they scammed everyone.
yeah whatever
He protected his lawyers by taking the blame.
if the election was legit... then they wouldn’t have fought tooth & nail to avoid an audit of the vote.
OBVIOUSLY they know it was rigged.
hell, 65+ cases dismissed isn’t a coincidence... it’s a cover up
totally stolen. 100% treason.
He don’t have to do anything. I’m just one lowly voter. It’s the other millions he’s pissin’ off with his big mouth that he needs to worry about.
None of these cases will ever get to a jury. How many times does Trump have say the indictments are “fake” before people just take him at his word. He means they’re fake not real. They exist for the purpose of exposing the prosecutors and trying them for election interference as well as trotting out more evidence that 2020 was stole.
Its the same thing with Biden. How many times does Trump have to say “he’s gone” or “he’s shot” as Trump Points a finger to his head like its a gun? He’s telling you that’s not Biden walking around.
Why do you think Trump constantly says “I’m the President of everyone?” Current tense. He says it constantly. He is the President.
So anything Donald Trump is saying has a reason. Just because you or I don’t get it doesn’t mean there isn’t a good reason. He’s not making mistakes.
My point is, if it’s true, multiple aides take the stand and say, they told Trump before and the night of the election he was going to lose based on how the numbers were coming in will be damning testimony for what he’s being accused of
>> damning testimony
Agreed, but the Stalinist tactics must be confronted on all fronts including the casual discourse that may persuade the ignorant to go along — the effective propaganda through which tyranny thrives.
Amazing how the corruption is so blatantly obvious.
LOL, no one cares.
“Maybe it was 70 million votes for Biden and 11 million anyone-but-Trump votes.”
Sounds like unhinged TDS on your part.
So you really think that Biden got 81 million legitimate votes? THEN YOU ARE REALLY < insert preferred derogatory term for slow and or naive >.
Self-evidently untrue, since his support is growing by leaps and bounds every day.
Cope.
“The stable genius is at it again.”
Could you list your accomplishments for us? They should at least approach what Trump has done, that enables you to judge Trump’s mental stability.
