The children study in German, Polish, Austrian, French or Dutch schools. The mothers immediately found jobs,” writes the paper, adding: “We initially thought the European reception policy (for Ukrainian refugees) was a miracle of generosity, but it has turned out to be a curse.”
“Most of my best employees quickly found employment in Poland and France. Our industries are not working, there is a lack of market. None of them will return,” says Sergei, an entrepreneur in the IT field with offices scattered across the country.
He also tells the stories of soldiers abandoned by their wives to couple with men from other European nations.
“My wife with our two children aged 5 and 7 had left for Germany in the first days of the war. Since then, we were in contact less and less. And now I’ve discovered that she’s found a new companion,” said 40-year-old Alexei to Italian journalists. Despite the man fighting for his country near Bakhmut, he was abandoned for another man.

In our extended group of friends in the 70s, one had a father (high ranking US Marine) who was a POW. It was very sad that when he finally was released the mother/wife divorced him. All that suffering for what ?

Over a decade ago the wife and I spent a weekend in Ocean City MD. The stores and restaurants along the boardwalk had hired summer help from Ukraine. The vast majority were young women. Most of them were very attractive and they spoke very good English. I’m not sure if they were the rule or the exception, but I’m sure more than one snagged herself an American husband and his bank account.

Bodes not well for any type of post war “ Reconstruction “. Very near sighted thinking. Fact is, there will be no one left with the skills to attempt rebuilding, nor anyone left to administer the civilian infrastructure.
Fact is, very, very few Ukrainians will return. “ Rebuilding” will no doubt be attempted with very low paid aliens, extending the Ukrainian poverty cycle ( They were / are the poorest nation in Europe).
It’s really just a plan for Europe to accommodate more migrants

If Ukraine gets it’s territory back, it can restart the opening up of gas and oil fields. This will provide men with good paying jobs. Eventually, women will show up...
