The republican reps who vote for him have to be asked to explain their votes.

The Texas House Republicans also voted overwhelmingly to impeach Paxton. I'm not informed enough about Texas politics to say just how these Republicans were swayed (by the Bush wing) to go after Paxton, but it seems that sway didn't carry over to the Senate Republicans.

That was before Tony Buzbee blew into town and embarrassed the prosecution. He just destroyed the case against Paxton, line by line, item by item.

I am surprised the votes were as close as they were.

Several of the House Reps., like B. Cain and A. Murr, the grandson of former Governor Coke Stevenson, claim to be conservative.
