All is fair in politics and impeachment. This time, it is the Democrats’ feathers that are ruffled.
As House Speaker Kevin McCarthy officially announced the House’s intention to investigate President Joe Biden, former Speaker Nancy Pelosi must have regretted her decision to forgo a House impeachment vote in 2019 in the case of President Trump. So excited was she to commence an inquiry leading to a Trump impeachment, she forgot herself, it seems.
Now, the Democrats are getting their just deserts. As Pelosi so flippantly dismissed McCarthy’s formal request for an impeachment inquiry vote back then, McCarthy is now doing the same to the former speaker and her Democratic counterparts. President Joe Biden’s fate is now at the mercy of a Republican majority........
Byron York, chief political correspondent of the Washington Examiner, couldn’t have captured the basis of the Democrats’ undoing better than in this social media post: “On October 15, 2019, three weeks after unilaterally declaring an impeachment inquiry, Speaker Pelosi, backed by Adam Schiff, insisted there was no requirement to hold an authorizing vote and she would not hold an authorizing vote.”,,,,,,,
According to CNN in October of 2019, Pelosi clearly stated, “We’re not here to call bluffs. We’re here to find the truth, to uphold the Constitution of the United States … This is not a game for us. This is deadly serious, and we’re on a path that is getting us to a path to truth and timetable that respects our Constitution.” So is McCarthy now.

I don’t want a conviction, I want Biden on the ticket
I just heard Nasty on TV saying that McCarthy was lying, that she did have a vote.
Nasty couldn’t be lying, could she?
She is the MASTER of lies knowing that no one in the LSM will factcheck her.
I want AOC on the ticket. At least she's sexy (in a barmaid, beer-guzzling/hot wings kind of way).
I understand your drift, but... Voter fraud is real and that is truly a concern. I say nail em if you possibly can here and now...
Oh she lies alright.
The key factor for Republicans is the increased legal force they will have under the impeachment process. A legal force the Democrats confirmed by taking the issue of congressional power to the Supreme court. Banks, agencies of the executive branch, and private individuals will have to provide info to the House. If they don’t the House, thanks to Pelosi, can send out the Capitol police to haul them in. Remember, she expanded the Capitol police to have offices in all 50 states. Looking forward to the fireworks. Remember they went/are going after Trump for phone calls, “procedural violations” and post election challenges. Not traditional crimes. With Biden they are going after actual money transactions. The banks, treasury, and the NSA will have to produce relevant documents and data. Why doe I add the NSA? Under the Patriot Act, I would bet that all of Joe’s and Hunters overseas call transcripts are available. Booyah.
And won’t it be interesting if the GOP-controlled House ends up shrugging and says, “There’s not much we can do. If people don’t want to provide information, I guess we’re out of luck. But we tried.”
Karma is a witch.
Republicans need to do much score evening though. I want revenge for every insult and indignity Trump had to endure.
“ I don’t want a conviction, I want Biden on the ticket”
I absolutely agree with this. Make them own this whole mess. Make those 81 million votes( yeah, right) own what they voted for.
From the article: “Worse yet, if Trump is re-elected, imagine what will happen to the swamp.”
Probably the same thing that Trump did about the swamp last time - which was *nothing*.
“I don’t want a conviction, I want Biden on the ticket”
With 81 million votes in 2020, the rats would be hard pressed to find another candidate with the charisma, charm and rapier wit of Joe Biden. The only other Democrat candidate that I think would come even close to those numbers is Dianne Feinstein or Bernie Sanders. I hear Bernie is looking for another house near the beach.
I agree, I don’t want a conviction either and here’s why. This is a Golden Opportunity for Repubs (Okay they can still F this up) to totally expose EVERY Rat politician who is dirty.
START with Joey, then every member of his administration, THEN every Dem Representative and Senator. In other words, rub Joey’s filthy diaper in ALL THEIR FACES.
13 months of full on scorched earth on Dems!!!!
Just hope Repubs can FIND THEIR BALLS to play dirty.
Okay, it could be a NICE DREAM.
I know Nancy Pelosi and Kevin McCarthy is no Nancy Pelosi!!
None whatsoever. I remember very well back when klinton/lewinski broke, many dim-0 senators saying that they did not believe it but it proven, klinton would have to go.
THEN came the blue dress with proof that no one could deny, and these same senators voted not to remove him.
Exactly. That is why I’ve been saying on this forum that the Repubs don’t need any evidence whatsoever. The Rats impeached Trump with no evidence so let’s play by these new rules.
When democrats have the majority in the house or senate democrats run the show.
When republicans have the majority in the house or senate democrats run the show.
See the difference?

“At least she’s sexy (in a barmaid, beer-guzzling/hot wings kind of way).”
You left out “horse-faced.”
It doesn’t matter who is on the ticket. The quality of the candidates and the issues don’t matter. The party that collects the most ballots, not legal votes, wins. The primary objective of the GOP in the 2024 election is to stop election fraud. Nothing else really matters.
Trump won decisively in 2020.
PS. There will be no conviction. The Dems control the Senate and you need two-thirds to convict. Only the Dems can remove Biden from the ticket.
