Milley, in an interview with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria, flat-out rejected Trump’s claim on Iran.
“I can assure you that not one time have I ever recommended to attack Iran,” Milley said.
The nation’s highest-ranking military officer was referring to comments Trump made in a 2021 audio tape at his Bedminster, N.J., club.
In the audio, Trump said he had a classified document proving his side of the story — that Milley told him to attack Iran during his administration.

Well it’s classified info, so we’ll find out who was right in 150 years.
Now that is interesting....because I believe the suit against Trump specifically mentions this “secret” document....but I’ll google to look for it...

If Milley is to be believed, then whatever Trump had in his hand was not a classified document.
Can’t imagine whatever Trump saw in Milley when he tapped him for his Joint Chiefs fiasco.
In a meeting on security matters I can imagine participants coming up with all kinds of ideas, some serious, some not so serious. But then you settle on what is best.

Remember, whewn Trump took over the WH he was not a politician, he was not a Washington insider and didn’t know who was on first. He had to rely on his trusted advisors to supply names for the appointed jobs. People like Christie.
Yeah sure. Except I still remember the complete DC freakout when Trump cancelled the strikes on Iran after they shot down a drone. Yeah... the Pentagram and neocons were pushing for a huge strike on Iran.

Not that I disagree but...who is the obvious AG in a second Trump term? It’s very difficult to know who can be trusted. I didn’t see a lot of complaints when Trump picked “Mad Dog” or Bolton for that matter.
What did we, the republican voters, see in 97% of our so called representatives in Washington? I guess we are all a bunch of complete idiots.
I reject Milley, so are we even?

Given that Trump has on dozens of occasions claimed some fact that is damning to one member of the Deep State (or all of them), and been ridiculed for each of those claims - and was then was proven right on each and every matter - I choose to believe him over General Trans.
