Russian general says Eastern Europe is next, reminding us why we need to back Ukraine
The New York Post ^ | September 11, 2023 | Dalibor Rohac

If you think, like Elon Musk, that instead of fighting, Ukraine and Russia “should agree to a truce,” the recent interview with General Andrey Mordvichev, one of Russia’s top commanders in Ukraine, should give you pause.

Asked about the war’s expected duration, he said the quiet part out loud: There is still “plenty of time.”

According to him, “If we are talking about Eastern Europe, which we will have to, of course then it will be longer.”

In other words, the Kremlin is in the conflict for the long haul.

Not only it is committed, as Russian President Vladimir Putin himself stated on numerous occasions, to the destruction of Ukraine’s statehood, but its ambitions extend beyond Ukraine, encompassing Moldova and Georgia as well as our NATO allies in the Baltic states and Poland.

None of this is news to Eastern Europeans.

As the late former president of Poland Lech Kaczynski noted in 2008, after Russia attacked Georgia, “Today Georgia, tomorrow Ukraine, the Baltic States the day after tomorrow, and then perhaps the time will come for my country, Poland.”

America’s self-styled realists who believe a compromise can be reached with Putin — perhaps peace in exchange for some territory and promise of Ukraine’s neutrality — have a hopelessly unrealistic, naïve understanding of the Kremlin’s thinking.

Putin took Crimea when Obama was President. And he didn’t invade Ukraine until Biden became President. So not much happened during Trump’s watch.

I know

These freepers don’t see the bigger picture

They want to lock themselves up in their house while the neighborhood around them burns. Eventually the fire will
Chock them up

America needs friends

“Please stop spewing your garbage. Its pathetic.”

He posted an article from the NY Post; it has also been reported on other sources. So, how is it TR’s “garbage?”

“Complete BS.”

So, you are denying this Russian general made the statement? Or, do you believe the discredited reports that he was killed over a year ago?

Snake, the fantasies of both your sources and yourself are running pretty wild.

Uh, the original source is Russia-1, you know, RUSSIAN STATE MEDIA!

Here's the man himself, saying it on VIDEO.

Why do I care if Eastern Europe is next?

I care about Mexico.

“Unlike America, Russia isn’t an interventionist nation.”

Tell that to Chechnya, and Georgia, and Moldova, and...well; you get the picture.

It is that most people are inclined to support or acknowledge the truth. NATO deceived Russia. Corruption Joe ran the Ukraine project to fool Russia with MINSK II agreement while secretly building a Ukrainian army designed to force Russia to dissolve so the west can exploit the natural resources.

Ukraine got in bed with Obama and Biden. Russia did not understand their 160,000 special operation troops would run into 800,000 entrenched Ukraine soldiers with underground NATO manned command centers.

Russia is adjusting to facts on the ground. They are proving resilient in the face of massive sanctions and slowly keeping Ukrainian troops tied down while they rearm and train a total of four 500k Corps. 1.2m to deal with Ukraine next summer.

No worries Biden will have to run for reelection with an ongoing war of his personal making, and pivot to China.

Amateur hour Blinkin, Miley and Biden/Obama miscalculated stating their aim was regime change and defeat of Russia.

“The Baltic states weren’t bombing ethnic Russians since 2014- the Ukies were.”

And neither the Baltic states nor Ukraine were shooting down airliners, killing all on board. What’s your point? That Ukrainian forces responded to a civil war started by pro-Russia separatists?

maybe the point of the meme didn’t get across. The neocons are constantly making fun of what bumbling weak idiots Russia is and they are constantly being defeated by the Ukranian Army.

In the same breath, they try to warn us that Russia is a major global threat that will soon dominate all of Europe and then USA.

Ukraine has no elections and they are proud of their political opposition murder program targeting civilians.

No political opposition in Ukraine. Zelensky’s backers in Ukraine are NAZIs and the DNC who used Ukrainian NAZIs at Charlottesville, J6 and recently in Florida. The DNC has parterned with NAZIS to frame conservatives in the US and to murder Russian speakers in Ukraine.

“After the communists prevailed in 1975, Vietnam never expanded like they claimed would happen, and these folks never bring it up.”

The Vietnam War was likely before your time; but it was in my time (and I served then). I don’t recall anyone saying that Vietnam (a country) was going to expand; the concern was that COMMUNISM was going to expand (and it did: Cambodia; Central and South America; parts of Africa; et als).

NATO is dead, has been since the europussies stopped paying their bills.

Personally I couldn’t care less if Russia eats up all of LAME EUROPE, it’s something the europussies should have thought about 30 years ago instead of relying on the US to pull their asses out of the woodchipper for the THIRD TIME in less than a 150 years!

According to your screen name your a CANADIAN, part of the great English empire, so put on the uniform of his majesties mighty imperial army and go kill some Russkies!

Just don’t ask for any American help this time around.

REAL TIRED OF MY FAMILY MEMBERS DYING IN EUROPEAN WARS!
