Liberty Safe, which describes itself as “America’s #1 heavy-duty home and gun safe manufacturer,” has come under fire after a report revealed that its parent company has donated almost half a million dollars to pro-gun control Democratic officials.
On Wednesday, Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk shared FEC filings on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, that show Liberty Safe’s parent company, Monomoy Capital Partners, has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Democrats.
“I pulled the FEC reports on the company and found approximately $400,000 over the last 10 cycles of max donations to Democrats,” Kirk wrote.

“Liberty Safe’s current CEO, Justin Hillenbrand, was a founding partner of Monomoy and donated $4,600 to Obama for America,” Kirk added.
In a news release Monomoy Capital issued announcing its acquisition of Liberty Safe in 2021, it called the move “another great example of Monomoy partnering with a branded, market leading, consumer products manufacturer that has garnered an enthusiast customer base throughout the company’s history.”

Among the many donations listed, the most notable were to Democratic Sens. Raphael Warnock of Georgia, John Fetterman of Pennsylvania and Mark Kelly of Arizona, and former Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes of Wisconsin – all of whom have expressed support for gun control.

Liberty Safe is already facing fierce backlash for giving the FBI the passcode to a customer’s safe.
...
Liberty Safe voluntarily gave the FBI the passcode to get into the safe, despite the fact that there was no court order requiring the company to do so

If you have one what else do you do?
“Apparently the Fed’s say they had a warrant.”
They had a warrant allowing them to search the safe. But that does not empower them to go to the manufacturer and demand they perform work to open it.
The FBI can bring saws, crowbars, blowtorches, Vinnie the safecracker, etc. But the warrant in no way requires anyone else to help them gain entry... including the safe owner.
And Liberty is about to get sued. They gave out his combination without a court order or permission.
Donating to Dems “on the fence” may NOT be a bad strategy. Pols CAN be bought, after all. BUT, donating to the anti-gun clowns listed here is just un-American and anti-2nd Amendment.
People should take their Liberty safes and bury them. Also people who believe in Liberty need to not run out and buy products with patriotic names until they do a dive into who they support.
Leftists are liars and fraudsters.
What does it matter if you change the combination? They have a database of every safe owner, that is all they need.
Really
Add this company to the list to boycott, folks.
I sincerely hope it is a multi-million$$$$$ lawsuit
Well, that company is FINISHED!
I cannot imagine them releasing it without a court order or permission. Should be class action also.
Wonder what he will have to say about it tomorrow.
The federal government colluding with corporations across all industries is called fascism.

American Security - It was inexpensive.
Mechanical lock.
Cash and carry.
No record of the transaction.
I have never understood why anyone would want an electronic lock on a safe.
If the battery goes dead, the safe gets struck by lightening, Russia hits us with an EMP or in a moment of panic you forget the combination you are locked out of your safe.
Give me the old fashioned Dial combination lock where muscle memory alone gets me in the safe and everything is simple mechanicals.
Was it for the safe specifically or just the premises?
Would help to know what the warrant said they were looking for.
Fox in the henhouse for sure.
Find a locksmith and make changes.
When you buy a house, do you change the locks when you move in? I do.
When I bought my gun safe first thing I did was set my own combination. No, it was not a liberty.
Should I have to do that? Of course not. I shouldn’t have to lock my car when I go into a store. But I do, because that’s the way the world is.
