The head of Ukraine's Main Directorate of Intelligence agency (GUR) has said that Russian troops will prove unable to continue their full-scale invasion for longer than one more year, adding that Moscow's forces have "miserably failed" at the strategic level.
Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov told the Yalta European Strategy (YES) summit in Kyiv on Saturday that Russia's invasion "didn't work for the better" for the Kremlin, leaving the country's armed forces and economy much diminished...
"If it's a 'long-term' fight, what is the spell of time?" Budanov said, when asked if Ukraine is taking steps to prepare for a lengthy conflict. "Are you talking about half a year, one year, 50 years?" ...
"The offensive is still taking place," Budanov said. "It may not be moving on as fast as I would probably wish for it to move on, and I'm not hiding this fact." Operations, he said, have been slowed by "heavily mined" territory, networks of well-prepared defenses, massed artillery, and large numbers of "kamikaze" drones.
Regardless, Budanov painted a grim picture of Russian prospects, as has come to be expected of the Ukrainian spy chief. "The condition of the regime in the Russian Federation now is drastically different from what it used to be before 2022," he said.
"It has become weaker, their economy is failing, and this is a fact...they've really gone down in their military might." Moscow, he said, no longer appears "as strong as it is supposed to be."...
Drone attacks inside Russia, Budanov added, are pushing Russian society into "panic mode," citing disruptions to civil aviation and reports of a surge in civilian insurance sales amid recent UAV strikes. Such developments, he said are "a sure sign of panic."

(a) that it would be going on this long, and
(b) that even Moscow would be bombed
Globalist propaganda spam from foreign Sorosbots.
Whistling past the graveyard.
Give it to News-weak (spelled correctly). They’ll believe anything. (Especially COVID health fear porn and climate fear porn)
Our deficit can’t take it either. The war machine is raking in $$ and the kick backs to the politician is just in time for the fake election.
Like many here on the other side, the Ukrainian spy chief exaggerated the inevitability of the final outcome.
Essentially the question is which side will break first. And that is probably a coin toss, with the slight edge to the West and Ukraine.
Because the Western economies are wealthier and they are not directly affected by the war.
And Russia has not achieved its strategic objective.
Always good to get a disinterested opinion.
What Putin’s 76th Guards Air Assault Division doink? LOL!
Russian regions have reported empty petrol stations, and this concerns not just AI-95 and AI-92 petrol, which previously set a historical record for price growth, but also diesel
Russia, one of the world's biggest oil producers, has faced shortages of fuel crucial for gathering the harvest in some parts of its southern breadbasket and the situation may get worse in coming months, market sources told Reuters.
Traders said that the fuel market has been hit by a combination of different factors including maintenance at oil refineries, infrastructure bottlenecks on railways and the weaker rouble which incentivises fuel exports.
Russia has tried to tackle diesel and gasoline shortages over recent months, contemplating export curbs as the last-ditch attempt to prevent a serious fuel crisis - which is sensitive for the Kremlin ahead of a presidential election in March.
"The Ai-92 gasoline is not available for retail sales in Krasnodar region, Adygea and Astrakhan, there is hardly any Ai-95 gasoline and diesel," a trader in Russia's south said.
Another trader said there have been no diesel sales at oil depots and there is no diesel on retail markets for the second week running in the whole Samara region, located in the Volga river region.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on Wednesday that there were no fuel shortages.

Ukraine's New Defense Minister Reveals Priorities in First Major Speech
By
On 9/9/23 at 4:00 PM EDTExcerpt:
The new minister said foreign military aid will be among his foremost priorities. "Weaponry: We need it today. We need it now. We need it more."
He went on: "I take this opportunity to address our international partners. We're stronger together. We're grateful for all the support provided. But we need to continue our war coalition efforts to win this war."
Umerov also pointed out that "Ukrainian warriors today are sacrificing their lives for the core values of democracy and freedom. They need backup from your side, the partners. This backup is weapons."
When are you leaving for Kiev to fight for your idol, Zelensky ?
Putin’s VDV aren’t laughing these days while they’re getting clustered in the southern defense trenches.
I will say Webb Union had a…no…THE MOST positive report on the Great Ukr Offensive..well almost since it started.
He said a possible crack has developed on the Russ front (near Robotyne?). However we will have to see if that will be contained by the 2nd and 3rd lines.
Still I wonder at what cost, it’s possible Ukr could get a Pyrrhic victory.
when are you leaving for Moscow to fight for your hero Putin?
"Zelensky also accused Western powers of hypocrisy in their urging Ukraine to fight faster, when they themselves — in his view — acted too slowly to support the invaded nation. He continued: ” They stop our counteroffensive. The war is complicated, some processes are complicated, and many things have been slowed down. When some allies say: ‘What about the counter-offensive? When will the next step be?’. My answer is that today, our steps are coming faster than [the West’s] new sanctions packages."
People dying really turns you on, doesn’t it?
