Claims that "woke" Pentagon policies are fueling a massive U.S. military recruiting crisis are overblown – and the criticisms may only be making things worse, one expert said.
Peter Feaver, a Duke University professor and former member of the National Security Council during the Clinton and Bush administrations, said concerns over so-called "woke" policies have been blown out of proportion by politicians and critics. The main driver of the crisis are issues such as the current labor market and the shrinking pool of young Americans who are qualified to serve, he said. . .

As more and more recruits are not from military families, they don't know much about the military and military policies, woke or not. You could tell recruits anything and they'll believe it until their first drill instructor disabuses them of all their false notions.
Unless the illegal Jim Jones Jab mandates for the COVID-1984 Scamdemic are considered "woke". If so, woke absolutely destroys recruiting.
Retention on the other hand will be significantly impacted by woke policies. Military members correctly don't want to hear about honor and integrity and then be told that they need to accept the mentally ill assertions of peers with Gender Dysphoria and Autogynephilia, along with all the other woke nonsense.
Having woke nonsense come from appointees high up the chain of command selected by their ethnicity and genitalia only make it worse.

Not only does woke military leadership affect recruitment. It affects retainment. Reenlistment is way down. Tell me what kind of soldiers you want to fight for America; fat faggots and gender deniers? Or hardened combat veterans?
And the senior nco’s and officers who go along without challenging these policies become asshats who are driving skilled people out. Reactor crews and aviation maintenance and overhaul people don’t have to put up with tin dictators riding their butts about white privilege. So they don’t reenlist. nd 12 years of very technical experience and knowledge walks away. It’s not just the new recruit shortage, it’s the shrinking skills base. And then they work the remaining people harder and expect them just to suck up the abuse coming from nco’s that don’t have the skill set to do the job themselves.
It figures a Bush appointee wouldn’t mention America’s non-stop involvement in wars across the planet as a cause for not joining.

They have plans for the military at home and abroad, and they need it fully staffed.
