They Are Deliberately Inserting These Scenes In Kids Movies
Youtube.com ^ | September 8, 2023 | Andrew Young, Cwic Media

Posted on 09/09/2023 10:31:46 AM PDT by Jess Kitting

Andrew Young has worked for XBox, DreamWorks, and other kids entertainment companies. He has seen firsthand how deliberate decisions to insert specific scenes and vocabulary take place. We talk about his experiences and why they choose to deliver these messages under a cloak.

I've seen Andrew give examples from The Lego Movie, Frozen, and many others. He shows how these movies use "social engineering" as propaganda to your kids.

Coincidentally, I saw "Old Henry" for the third time just last weekend.

I'll see your "Old Henry" and raise you a "Warlock".

Haven’t seen Warlock but am willing to check it out if you think it’s worth watching. If we can’t get tips from fellowcreepers, who can we trust?

And I’m glad you are ahead of the curve on Old Henry and discovered it before it becomes a golden oldie.

As you probably know, this is my perennial pushback on FR threads that turn into “Hollywood hasn’t made any good movies in X years.” Good movies are still being made. We just have to find them in all the clutter. Our target acquisition systems are broken.

Fellowfreepers, not creepers, btw. Spellcheck just made the same “correction” as I typed this out. Caught it this time.

Dumb dads didn’t come in until at least the late 70s.

(To be fair, they had had decades of dumb moms before then, but dads are stuck in the role now.)

The only dumb guys I think of from the ‘60s were the Three Stooges.

As an adult I like and appreciate very well done animation.

If you're into classical music at all you should check out "Your Lie in April". It was on Netflix at one time, but I have no idea if it's still there.

There were tons of TV dumb guys in the 50s and 60s, and the same for fathers in sitcoms.

Comedy does require vulnerabilities, but dumber than the wives?

I think of Archie Bunker—and then his wife, the “Dingbat”.

The standard isn’t comparing the male father figure to the mom in a family.

I don’t remember what TV husbands/dads my brother and I were talking about, but we had noticed them.

The Honeymooners, Desi Arnez, The Flintstones, Dick Van Dyke, Car 54 Where are you? The Rifleman, wait a minute, the Rifleman???? OK, not him.

I thought the issue was Desi having to put up with his wacky wife?

And I do think you can’t whine about stupid men on TV if they were reliably paired with stupider women.

It was an observation of two young boys in the early 60s, what you now choose to label whining.

The only shows you mentioned was one from the 1970s and the aired 3 Stooges shorts.

While there has been writing on this topic this was merely an exchange of opinions of what we were seeing in the 50s and 60s, you are welcome to yours.

Remember the popular “The Life of Riley”.

“In all of the show’s incarnations, the comedic plotlines centered around Riley himself, a gullible and occasionally clumsy (but big-hearted) man, and the doings and undoings of his family. Riley’s penchant for turning mere trouble into near-disaster through his well-intentioned bumbling was often aided or instigated by his arch best friend/next-door neighbor, Gillis.”

It is only available on Netwflix in some countries, but not available for U.S. or U.K. subscribers.

My nephews son has an Netflix account with a Japanese location. I will see if it is available via his account.
