Democrats’ 2024 Magic Bullet: Mass Mail-In Voting
themessenger ^ | 09/09/2023

What do you do, as a political operative, when your party’s candidate doesn’t appear to be physically well enough to endure a national presidential campaign? When your candidate struggles with prepared remarks, trips on stairs, and cannot make it through a campaign event without uttering major gaffes? When your candidate, simultaneous to the problems stated above, is unable to answer basic questions about a myriad of family scandals that allegedly involve millions of dollars funneling into family bank accounts from foreign entities? When your candidate is not even able to point to a track record of success on the economy, the security of our southern border, or unifying the nation?

You find a bulletproof way to win, anyway.

And the Democrats just may have found it: mass mail-in voting.

Democrats realize they cannot run a normal campaign, leading up to a normal Election Day, and win the 2024 presidential election. A full 73% of the public, including two-thirds of Democrats, believe that President Biden, at 80, is too old for a second term. Poll after poll shows the same result, including some that find a majority of those surveyed believe the president’s physical and mental sharpness is not at the level needed for the job. Some polls even show Donald Trump with a lead over Biden, likely speaking more to the public’s distaste for the current president than to their embrace of the former one.

“And the Democrats just may have found it: mass mail-in voting.”

They have already used this method to cheat. They have suffered zero consequences from having done so. Why wouldn’t they just do it again? They can always print more ballots than the actual vooting we can produce.

They “found” it in 2020.

And 2016. But they were short a few votes. There will be a new strain of Covid in 2024.

Democrats’ 2024 Magic Bullet: Mass Mail-In Voting

Kristin Tate | Published 09/08/23 06:00 AM ET

Put it together and Biden’s road to 270 electoral votes is paved on reusing the 2020 COVID playbook. Hence the recent ramp-up in COVID panic, once again ushering in debates regarding school closingsmasking and, ultimately, more sweeping changes to the country’s election systems. Even the most doe-eyed twentysomething Biden White House staffer must realize that the full-on lockdowns of the early pandemic are not coming back. However, a new COVID variant gives left-wing activists justification to usher in mass mail-in balloting once again — you know, for “safety” reasons. After all, you don’t want grandma to die, do you?

In 2020, only about a third of Americans voted at a physical polling location on Election Day. The 2020 election represented the first time in American history that more than half of the electorate voted on a day that was not Election Day. The expansion of Election Day to “Election Month” brought out a number of lower-propensity, and arguably lower-information, voters who cast their ballots by the millions. Young people increased their voting share sharply in the last election.

In some states, the changes were even more dramatic. Between 2016 and 2020, New Jersey saw its share of mail ballots increase from just 7% to an astounding 86%. The partisan lean should be no more surprising. Among voters in Pennsylvania who voted by mail, 76% went for Joe Biden. In Maryland, it was 81%. In the crucial state of Georgia, Trump received just 34% of the mail-in ballots.

The 2020 trampling of precedent under the guise of an “emergency” was especially pronounced in critical states such as Pennsylvania, where officials were ordered to count mail-in ballots that arrived within three days after the election toward the final result — even those that did not have a postmark. The move undoubtedly had a massive impact on the swing state’s outcome.

Make no mistake: Democrat-run states that reenact similar voting rules next year will be doing it to favor their candidates. These measures, paired with COVID panic and calls for social distancing, will allow President Biden to reenact his basement campaign tour of three years ago without much pushback.

Republicans must learn from mistakes made in 2020. Some states with Republican governors at the time, such as Utah and Vermont, started automatically sending ballots to voters — falling directly into the trap set by COVID-obsessed liberals and fanning the flames of public panic over the virus. Furthermore, most of the states that voted for Trump did not require a non-pandemic reason to vote by mail.

It is also worth remembering that it was Trump who signed the funding for such fundamental election changes into law under the emergency pandemic CARES Act. Trump misjudged the moment in seeking such “temporary” emergency changes. Any conservative should know that the closest thing to eternal life is a government program.

The changes afforded to states under the CARES Act will ripple through 2024 and future elections. By codifying mail-in balloting, it is likely that Republicans will be at a constant disadvantage in voter turnout. GOP voters tend to show up at the polls on Election Day. Democrats effectively harvested millions of votes in 2020 for their candidates.

One conservative who took the challenge seriously from the beginning was Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. The 2024 GOP White House contender was able to successfully navigate a tightrope — institute reforms to ensure election integrity while also facilitating a strong Republican turnout. DeSantis signed a bill into law last year that allows for mail-in balloting while also requiring voter ID and creating an election police force.

The system worked and DeSantis won a landslide reelection in 2022.

The Republican Party must adapt or die. There will be little margin of error if the party or its leadership actively discourages supporters from also voting by mail in states where mass mail-in voting is again adopted. Should the GOP want to carry 2024 — or any other election, for that matter — they have to know how to successfully counteract the Democrats’ advantages.

American democracy is something like a process of natural selection. When one party finds an advantage, the other must evolve to survive. And that includes for unfair or unreasonable reasons. Should these mail-in voting efforts succeed in court challenges, Republicans would have no choice but to beat the Democrats at their own game. If the 2022 midterms showed that Republicans fumbled near the end zone, not preparing for what the Democrats did in 2020 would have catastrophic results.

Fool me once, can’t get fooled again.

They need to have SIGNATURES of people who RECEIVED a ballot. Some grandkids I knew played a game on Tic Tac, and had a heads up when the ballots were headed to the mail box, and robbed a lot of votes before people ever got them.

For sure, and - I believe- they test drove it for decades, with ‘absentee’ voting.

We all KNOW they also played fast and dirty with Military votes.

They plan to take the California system national.

We Californians take alot of crap for our electoral choices, much deserved, but we were getting it mostly right until about 25 years ago.

We haven’t had honest elections here for years and now that mass mail in is the law we never will.

Betcha millions of the illegals who have entered the U.S. over the last 2.5 years will be receiving ballots in the mail.

I’m leaning toward this stumbling, bumbling, mumbling of JRB just being an act; a schtick! Look at how much EASIER it makes his job and his life. Make a minimum of personal experiences, ignore questions from ANYONE that you don’t feel like answering, and suddenly just walk away; split the scene. Impromptu ice cream breaks without limit. And the lapdog media makes excuses, laughs it off; explains it away. Plus the assurance that the rigged election guarantees him a victory without real campaigning. What’s not to like?

Of course.
BTW in my area and I’m sure others there is a wave of robberies of the contents of mail boxes - the ones located right outside the post offices!

The mails NEVER should have been used for mass voting. The lack of control all along the way makes it the most obvious invitation for fraud and theft imaginable.

Can’t really do anything about blue states, what the legislature says, goes. Red state legislatures need to step up. Can’t outlaw mail-in ballots, but you can cut way down on them.

Require all requests for mail-in ballots to be filled out by hand, signed by the voter requesting the ballot, and make them show valid State ID. Remove most of the drop boxes, require the rest to be at public buildings (not on street corners), and lock them at night. The courts have upheld all this inspite of the caterwauling by Dems. State legislators just have to make the effort and write the laws the right way. It can be done.
