Both political parties have been driving Russia into a partnership with China. The U.S. can’t win a war against that combination. Especially with Biden’s transgendered, lard assed, and affirmative action military.

The EU’s are really gonna get pissed when russia decides not to renew the nat gas contracts in a few months, because, after all, why would they renew? Or offer renewal at the same price the US sells that gas, at 5x the cost they currently pay. Gonna be a lot of baguette crumbs on the floor.

[For the perpetually ignorant, the EU buys, today, tons of russkie nat gas through ND1, the pipeline that escaped last year’s NATO bombing and is piped unmolested through Uke-land.]

“ Both political parties have been driving Russia into a partnership with China.”

Russia has been in partnership with Chicoms since Putin came in. Chicoms bought Russian military tech, funded Russia greatly.

Ukraine certainly wasn’t anti-Chicom either, they sold them their first aircraft carrier.

Is Russia in WTO?

The Russian Federation has been a member of WTO since 22 August 2012.

Gas for China will average $271.6 per 1,000 cubic meters in 2024, versus $481.7 for buyers in Europe and Turkey.

More MSM gas-lighting and propaganda (pun intented).

The first point - Germany's long-term contract with Russia-Nordstream was only about $43 per 1000cbm. Until psychotic deep-staters and Biden decided Europe could afford to pay a lot more for their neocon wet dreams.

In early 2022, Russia and China announced a 30 year "Power of Siberia" pipeline deal, set at about $150 per 1000cbm.

The article doesn't reference the terms of this China price of $271.6, its probably a complicated formula within the contract of long-term basis, with changes depending on spot prices and references to oil and gas elsewhere.

As to Europe's $481.7 per 1000cbm, that probably pure spot pricing, based on LNG and what Europe can buy from Algeria (or gas still flowing from Russia via Ukraine).

why would they renew?

follow the money, Tony

Vlady said last September the gas would be shut off "until the sanctions stop" ...

but the sanctions are still in place, so Vlady blinked ... obviously, because he needs the money

wars are expensive, and this one is costing Russia a lot

Thanks. I figured they were.

I assume this violate WTO agreements.

We will see how the WTO addresses this, if at all.

“Both political parties have been driving Russia into a partnership with China.”

GREAT DEAL for China and Russia. China increases their competitive edge over the West, while Russia makes up most of the lost revenue from Europe.

Once again, a VERY EFFECTIVE ‘punishment’ of Russia, by the Neocons.

Russia is swimming in oil, gas, diesel, metals, fertilizer, food, commodities…best part? Senile Joes sanctions disrupted world trade and increased Vlad’s profit across the board…..fact: the West is SPENDING billions , going deep into the debt hole….And Vlad is generating billions…..

…and Vlad says checkmate, again.

It has been an expected turn of events by some that the dumping of the dollar will be partly engineered by forcing anyone who wishes to buy some ESSENTIAL commodities using dollars to pay considerably MORE for said commodities than they would if they used select other currencies.

The scheme is more dangerous to dollar hegemony than a new currency fully backed and exchangeable for gold would be...

EVERYONE would cease paying in dollars for things like uranium ore, petroleum products, steel...etc

This sort of thing is to be expected if the world reserve currency is weaponized instead of rightfully keeping ALL politics out of such matters.

“I assume this violate WTO agreements.”

Yes it does. “Most-Favoured-Nation” (“MFN”) treatment requires members to accord the most favorable tariff and regulatory treatment given to the product of any one member at the time of import or export of “like products” to all other members. This is a founding principle of the WTO.

However, it looks good on paper but it is going to be tough to enforce. We live in a world where no one is self sustaining and trade moves so fast with independent items that cutting off someone will pass the pain around.

For Russia, let’s look at natural gas. If they get slapped for giving it to China at a lower price and don’t for other countries to include the US since we have been supplying arms, training, and cash to the Ukraine, they can just continue to China and tell everyone else what they are going to pay. The middle east has been doing this for half a century and nothing has changed except they were cash strung. And taking away their birthdays isn’t going to have any effect. It becomes a standoff on who will go broke first or will care if they do. This is why Biden cutting off our petroleum pumping in the US, to include natural gas, is so stupid as it puts the US into a losing status without the Russian natural gas dependency.

Russia is the world’s second-largest producer of natural gas, behind the United States, and has the world’s largest gas reserves. Russia is the world’s largest gas exporter. In 2021 the country produced 762 bcm of natural gas, and exported approximately 210 bcm via pipeline.

In January of this year Biden cancelled the sales of oil and gas that Trump had set up and yesterday cancelled the last seven oil and gas leases in ANWR and previously told Interior Secretary Deb Haaland to refuse all new leases to include the Rockies that are known to house a tremendous supply of petroleum that we may need. It may get cold this winter if Russia tells us to take a hike. And they’re used to going without.
