Commissioners of Lake Worth Beach, Florida vote unanimously to declare itself a sanctuary city for LGBTQ people:
“The City of Lake Worth Beach shall now and forever be considered a safe place, a sanctuary, a welcoming and supportive city for LGBTQ individuals and their families to live in peace and comfort.”
Residents in Tallahassee, Florida are pushing for a similar declaration.

I just saw that Lake Worth voted to change their name to Lake Worth Beach in 2019. I guess they want to be like Delray Beach and Boynton Beach to the south, and West Palm Beach to the north.
They want the "beach" sounding name.
