Explosion rocks area near Russian military headquarters regularly used by President Putin

A powerful explosion rocked a building just 150 feet from a military situation room frequently used by Russian President Vladimir Putin in Rostov-on-Don Thursday.

The blast, which the Kremlin said was from shooting down an airstrike, tore apart facades, smashed windows in three buildings and damaged several parked cars next to the headquarters of the Russian Southern Military District, according to the Independent, citing the state-owned RIA news agency.

One person was injured, according to regional Governor Vasily Golubev.

Video footage of the early morning attack showed a massive fireball rising into the sky in a developed area of the southern city.

“Look at this: I’m scared to even walk here. Oh Lord, the street is all covered in glass!,” said Araik Krist as he filmed himself walking at 3 a.m. on Pushinskaya Street, an area full of fancy restaurants, according to the outlet.

Rostov-on-Don is only about 60 miles from Ukraine, but has largely been spared from counterattacks because Russia is in control of the neighboring territories.

Probably just a treatment for one of the 14 types of cancer that Putin died of before they found the body double.

“Stupid neocons don’t realize proxy wars go both ways”

You mean like Russia’s proxy war against the West using hackers and internet trolls?

Or China’s war against the West using fentanyl?

Should the USA start dropping nukes all over Russia and China for their hostile acts against us? Is this what you’re proposing?

Putin has driven his country into a hell-hole with no future.
In reality Russia has already lost this war. This is a war that would have been successful for Putin if it had been going on for 2 - 3 weeks - and that was actually the Russian plan initially. Now, we are in 18 months of war (!) and Russia has basically not managed to take anymore territory from Ukraine compared to what they already had stolen anyway back in 2014 (Crimea and Donbas). What a terrible miscalculation from Putin, 18 months of war, 200.000 dead Russians, a coup attempt in his own country, millions of the smartest Russians fleeing Russia... So whats left? A dreadful mess.

So what is going on, why is Russia depleting itself militarily to a point of near no return?
Maybe they still cling on the hope of gaining a Pyrrhic victory?

you underrate Ukraine's abilities

you do realize that, before the Soviet Union broke up, Ukraine was the technological center, right?

you're just pissed that Russia's air defenses are a joke

proxy wars go both ways

yes ... Ukraine still owes Russia some payback for their use of White Phosphorus last fall ... don't worry, it's coming, Russia!

Do you realized that Russia has missiles that fly into Ukraine, don’t you? You’re just upset that Ukraine nazis stole your girlfriend. There will be hell to pay for blowing up pipelines and damns, can’t you see it?!

Look, I can argue BS like a Zeeper too!

unfortunately, insecure dictators like Putin can’t admit their weakness, so he insists on sending his country’s youth to die for his Ukraine obsession

personally, I’d bet most Russians don’t really care about Ukraine ...

I guess a direct attack on Z’s hdqtrs would be a tit for tat. Russia has been laying off going directly at major cities outside of their scope.

Nope.

Wave of Russian air strikes hits western Ukraine, far from front lines
