I'm not so sure they're begging, but they are desperately trying to hide his failings because they don't (yet) have an explainable way out for him NOT to run AND to not have that laughing hyena take his place.

Just in case my hunch is correct, GOPers should prepare for a bait and switch, with the Dem announcing a (carefully selected younger, telegenic) emergency candidate at the last minute (way too late to be fully interviewed, publicly vetted, or to take part in debates).
Then they make the election about Trump, up and down the ballot.
If nothing else, Mister Biden must be tired of trying to keep up with a younger man's schedule and that whole impeachment thingy isn't going away.
FOX parades clowns on all their propaganda shows who disparage Trump.
