Sgt. Nott seems like a heck of a Marine. If I understand Marine Corps ranks, he was promoted two paygrades.

Misunderstanding - Coeporal is E-4. Sergeant is E-5.

Nothing motivates a deserving service member more than a meritorious advancement.

Good for him. Good for the Corps.

This sounds a lot like my nephew: “the native of Jefferson City, Tennessee, decided at age 6 he would one day join the military.”

My nephew had the same dream from the same age, did a Corps Cadet program in college and enlisted in the Corps. He had a similar logistics job moving materiel in the South Pacific. He is a degreed mechanical engineer and his Corps experience really prepared him for a great career. He is an excellent engineering manager now, getting frequent promotions and is in demand in his company for the most challenging, complex projects.

back in the day, rank was thought to go like this: Sgt (e5) after 5 years, Staff Sgt (e6) after 6 years etc...

not sure about today.

maybe Sgt. Nott has aspirations for the officer side?

Semper Fi, Sgt. Nott.

In the new -- woke -- Marine Corp, wouldn't that be two gay parades?

President Trump should read Sgt. Nott’s words to all of America at the Republican Convention, then at his inauguration, and then annually.

May God Bless You, Sgt. Nott.

The highest jump in promotion that I ever heard of or know of, is that of a person that went from being a nobody to the highest position in the world.

Ever hear of Obama?
