Heat wave and no truly measurable rain here since August 7.
My “lawn” is just what grows naturally with no fertilizer.
It is green.
All the “developments’ a mile or so away that get Tru-Green and mow weekly are brown.
Ha!

Howdy, Kathy.
I reckon you’ve been busy trying to get those ducks in a row for tomorrow. Why do holiday Mondays always seem to fall on pay weeks?

People and lawn care companies always want the “golf course look”, by mowing down to 2” or so. Grass needs to grow 5-6” in Summer, to keep the green blades as long as possible, to make chlorophyll and feed themselves during drought. When the new, white stems of short-cut blades are exposed to the sun and heat, they simply brown-off.

Good evening, lauren...have you had a quiet weekend?
Any break in the heat? We had more rain over night.
