Connecticut’s law enforcement has been rocked by a potential scandal involving how its officers have been reporting traffic stops. An audit exposed a troubling pattern of state troopers manipulating records to make themselves appear to be more productive.
The report reveals that at least 100 officers were fabricating traffic reports to boost their numbers. The revelation has raised questions about the credibility of officers tasked with upholding the law and has led some to question whether they can be trusted to handle more serious criminal cases.

This is what a collapsing society looks like.
But there are no roadmaps as it collapses.
I read the whole report.
The way it worked is that the fake tickets were written warnings. That is a fairly common outcome.
They had to be written (entered into the computer system) so the cop got credit for them.
However there was no fine to be collected and no points against the driver’s record.
What we don’t know is exactly how the cops decided which real person got the fake warning....they may have just randomly pulled vehicle registration data in largely white areas—easy to do in a heavily segregated state like CT.
On written warnings full data had to be entered—including vehicle information and race (!).
;-)
But, of course, they don’t have quotas to meet
There was no evidence of quotas—there was no “minimum” or no “maximum”.
The system just gave you nice perks/rewards if you got more than the other troopers.
The sociopaths among them couldn’t resist faking it to make it.
“And with more underqualified and DEI candidates wearing badges,”
I suspect that the offenders are white, good old boys.
Didn’t say they weren’t.
Poor pay, very poor training, affirmative action re race, gender, sexual preference, women street cops, meritocracy cancelled...., indeed outlawed.
Poor pay?
Connecticut State cops are making 6-figures with a take home car, insane vacation and health benefits and can earn comp time to take even more paid time off. And 20year retirements with a pension and lifetime health benefits. Folks retiring when they’re in their mid-40s and then moving south to be cops down there.
Yeah there are cops that are underpaid in this country. Usually in small rural towns in the south and Midwest.
But the Northeast and Connecticut isn’t one of those areas.
Don’t forget, these are the cops that allowed a mob of protesters to destroy some woman’s car while they sat idly by.
LOL ! So true.
Maybe those were real stops, but the Police turned the miscreants loose after accepting bribes?
I’m sure the residents are okay with that.
...it may be in California but in Connecticut, as of 2023 and based upon worldpopulationreview.com data Connecticut comes in fifth in the nation at $66,000 for “average POLICE salaries”. The same list has California at second highest at $68,800. Alaska is number one at $69,000.00.
After taxes, in todays world, that’s a pretty depressing income.

Ziprecruiter says State Trooper salaries in Connecticut are $60,428.00. The highest State Trooper salary listed by ziprecruiter is Nevada at $79,384. California is $67,754.
That’s starting pay in recruit school

Trooper Trainee (6 months): $61,778
Trooper Trainee (Certified 2+ years): $70,785
Trooper Trainee (6 months): SP 2/1 - $68,643 - 1 year working test period from the date of graduation.
Trooper Trainee (Certified 2+ years): SP 2/2 - $70,785 - 6 month working test period from the date of graduation.
And the salary just goes up.
Night and shift differential.
Go to court, get paid
OT, get paid
Moonlight, get paid…..State issued equipment, off-duty use of assigned vehicle in accordance with current rules and regulations.
Suffolk Cty, NY patrolman can make over $200k a year. There isn’t a department in the NE that isn’t making 6-figures.
Do you have any creditworthy data source to prove that?
To prove what?
Because you need to be spoon fed like the typical FR commenter that thinks they’re smarter than everyone else

From the article:
The median pay for members of the bargaining unit was $118,307 in 2021, with more than 100 making more than $200,000, according to state payroll records. A dozen made more than $300,000, including a sergeant who earned $356,871.
But you go ahead and rely on Ziprecruiter. Good luck with that.
Yankees.
Way to catch them: If 80% of the infractions aren’t for blacks driving while black then it’s a hoax. Can’t be real.🚔🚔👮🏻👮🏻📝📝
