A 98-year-old man has been charged in Germany with being an accessory to murder as a guard at the Nazis’ Sachsenhausen concentration camp between 1943 and 1945, prosecutors said Friday.
The German citizen, a resident of Main-Kinzig county near Frankfurt, is accused of having “supported the cruel and malicious killing of thousands of prisoners as a member of the SS guard detail,” prosecutors in Giessen said in a statement.
They did not release the suspect’s name.
He is charged with more than 3,300 counts of being an accessory to murder between July 1943 and February 1945.

Here in the USA, we do basically the same thing, the KKK is still brought up all the time to compare them to Republicans.
The Proud Boys are finding out how the ruling class views people who they claim are associated with white supremacy.
“Seems a little hypocritical while Germany is actively giving panzers to you know who.”
The Jewish comedian?
“A few years ago, the German Government changed the law about Concentration Camp guards, now all they need to show is that this person had assigned duty at a concentration camp and he’s guilty by association.”
A few years ago they prosecuted a man who simply delivered mail to the administrative building for some camp.
I guess in the near future the Amazon driver who delivered packages to President Trump will have to be imprisoned.
> A few years ago, the German Government changed the law about Concentration Camp guards, now all they need to show is that this person had assigned duty at a concentration camp and he’s guilty by association. <
If so, that law is less about seeking justice, and more about virtue-signaling.
And there’s probably a bit of distraction thrown in, too.
“Let’s all focus on old Nazis, and also the younger neo-Nazis. Ignore the Muslims who are assaulting our women and knifing people on sidewalks.”
On the other hand, I look forward to the day when American COVID Nazis are subject to the same treatment.
No one minimize=s Nazi horror. But there is no more Nazi party. Everyone nominally associated with it is dead.
This is about commies keeping their boogieman alive. There’s always got to be a boogieman.
The ruling class in Germany needs to bring up the Nazi era and keep it alive in order to compare the AfD to them while they try to make the party illegal.
Panzers? Do they still make them?
And no, I don't know who they gave them to. Ukraine? If so, it was at the behest of U.S. led NATO.
I know Germany gives military aid money to Israel every year, including six Dolphin submarines over the past several decades.
Don’t believe the Iron Cross was on any WW2 German vehicles.
The Balkenkreuze or bar cross, in various types are what you would see on Wehrmacht machines.
The Iron Cross was more dominate on German machines(Like the Red Baron’s triplane) in the WW1
Many people don’t accept the “we don’t care if he was just following orders” argument.
So what “orders” are we instead supposed to follow? Our Christian conscience?
We know the state of present-day Christianity in Europe, as well as the state of Christian education and the formation of Christian morality in Europe these days - it basically doesn’t exist.
What do we say to the next generation of prison camp guards under the present socialist/statist/NATO clique?
I don’t have an answer - just riffing on present trends into the future
Exactly. The men responsible for the horrors of the Holocaust are long dead.
Now they're going after teenagers as if they had any say in the decisions made by their elders.
What's next? Going after the children of Nazis for the crime of being their offspring?
They're not much different from our modern civil rights warriors who still dredge up the KKK as their favorite boogeyman, as if it's still 1962 and the Klan is 2 million strong, wielding power at every level of government.
Such perfect villains, the left is loathe to let them go.
What exactly is a “major nazi camp?” How to define it?
As an example, if BLM Marxists took over America and wrote their future history of the USA, they would define every county, state and Federal prison as a “camp” because it imprisoned righteous black men.
You wouldn’t be able to see the USA for all the black dots on the map.
Is someone really analyzing what each black dot is? Or is it just a propaganda exercise?
Can’t believe a 98 year old man sitting in Germany is now clearly a criminal when the last 70 years we did not think so. I think he is too old to defend himself. Everyone who could actually remember anything is dead. I highly doubt that there is any justice going on here. Just an old guy who can’t explain where he was 80 years ago. And there are no friends anymore to support him.
No, they were sent to “punishment units” on the Russian front lines(which the regular units detested as it was seen as a dishonor to the heroism of the front line soldiers.
And if they were already on the front lines, they were simply shot, according to the discretion of the officer.
And given the hectic state of the retreating Wehrmacht, paperwork probably wasn’t a priority.
If you joined the SS, you knew what you were getting into.
I am not unsympathetic to the plight of the victims and understand the need for some measure of justice.
However, what is to be gained for prosecuting a man who is 98 years old? Life without parole, or even death, has zero impact on him overall. His life is nearly over, and you can’t get blood from a stone.
Well it might have been scary especially a Tiger
But the russkie had numerical armor and manpower superiority and better gas mileage and resupply
“It’s ridiculous to charged basically a kid at the time with no agency in the Nazi regime.
If he had a choice it was either being a guard or the Russian front.”
Yup—the “holier than thou” attitude around here gets very irritating.
I would bet every poster here would have acted the same as that kid if put in the identical situation.
The guards were told “shoot or you will be shot”.
