Close to 20,000 migrant children will have been absorbed by New York City’s public schools when the school year starts on Sept. 7. None will be required to show proof of vaccinations when they enroll, as is required for children of New Yorkers.
On Thursday, New York City officials held a press conference regarding the state of the more than 100,000 border crossers and illegal aliens that have arrived in the sanctuary city since the spring of last year.
According to officials, nearly 19,000 migrant children had enrolled in New York City schools across all five boroughs by the end of last school year, while an additional 500 migrant children are expected to be enrolled at the start of this school year.
“How can you look parents of non-migrants in the face — many, many millions of them, maybe two million families and parents — how do you tell them everything’s going to be okay this year?” one reporter asked officials at the conference, to which an official responded:
Everything has been okay. We started welcoming these students in from last year. And it’s very important to note as well, prior to this administration, we lost 120,000 families left the New York City public schools. So, we’ve absorbed last year, 19,000 students. We have room for the students and our principals, our superintendents, our school communities have worked extremely well in receiving these young people. I’ve been to schools, I have visited schools where I’ve seen other students, third and fourth graders who are interpreting for their classmates. [Emphasis added]
Another official said none of the roughly 20,000 migrant children attending New York City schools in the coming days will be required to show proof that they have been vaccinated against communicable diseases like polio, measles, mumps, and rubella.

That is a fine example of a violation of the equal protection clause of the Constitution.
Last time I looked the tuition for each kid in NYC schools was north of $25,000 per year. Since most of these kids are likely non-English speaking, the actual cost per kid will be higher.
American people enabling this to go on.
No sympathy for them.

Must be nice to be part of the privileged elite for whom all the laws of this country and requirements of bureaucracy don't apply, not to mention all the free stuff you are given and not having to pay taxes.

These illegals aren’t going anywhere. They’re going to be quietly worked into the system and NGOs and charities are going to take care of their needs. And law firms are going to sue to prevent their expulsion.
And they’re going to have tons of kids, while Whites are going to be told that having kids is racist or harms the climate, and it’s better just to have pets or even better, be gay.
Since most of these kids are likely non-English speaking, the actual cost per kid will be higher.
Imagine the difficulty an english speaking "legal citizen" child will face trying to actually learn anything in that environment.
Why is it that in this "Progressive America" the liberals have created the scofflaws, criminals, racists, freaks and perverts get preferential treatment
while honest taxpaying citizens get shoved to the back of the line or shoved out the door?
Once again, DemocRATS demonstrate that they favor illegal invaders over American citizens.
Some quick arithmetic: NYC schools spends $18,600 per student. The addition of 20k wetbacks will cost $370,000,000. They voted for it. You pay at least part of it regardless of where you live; more correctly, your children and grandchildren will pay for it in the future. NYC schools receive 10% of their funding from the federal government.
Not just ‘progressive America’. From what I’ve read, British-born Brits are kicked to the ‘back of the queue’ when it comes to housing, medical treatment and ‘social benefits’ in favor of the ‘refugees’ who are landing on their shores.
