Is it time for Republicans to take Nikki Haley seriously?
According to a new Emerson College Polling survey, “Haley saw the largest increase in support among Republican candidates, jumping 5 points from 2 percent to 7 percent” following last week’s debate.
“Nikki Haley’s support increased from about 2 percent to 9 percent among voters over 50 [years of age],” said Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, “while Trump’s support dropped within this age group from about 56 percent to 49 percent after the debate.”
This jump is modest, inasmuch as it still leaves Haley in the single digits. But it’s also no outlier. According to a poll conducted by The Washington Post, FiveThirtyEight, and Ipsos released last Thursday, voters were persuaded to at least give her a second look. “Pre-debate, 29 percent of GOP primary voters who watched the debate said they were considering voting for her,” according to the survey, “and that increased to 46 percent after the debate.”
So how did she do it? Haley caught our attention by being first to hit Trump (from the right), when she criticized him for “adding eight trillion to our debt.” This surprised everyone, demonstrated courage, and put to rest the notion that she is merely running to be Trump’s vice president.

Haley is the odds on favorite to be Trump's VP. For many reasons.
Yahoo. Think about it.
Well that concern got a quick laugh. She’s best in a cabinet role, maybe education secretary. But not VP or President as she is not natural born citizen, which matters greatly to me.
Too funny. Nick Knack Paddywhack Give a Uke a Bomb picked up some of collapsing DeSoros’s support, but in many polls she’s still in single digits and way down.
Nick Knack Paddywhack Give a Uke a Bomb.
It only looks that way if you’re a woke Democrat.
But there is no consensus on the definition of natural born citizenship.
None of the "Seven Dwarfs" should be taken seriously. Their campaigns are nothing but grifting operations.
Vivek Ramaswamy may be the last one standing if the Deep State takes out Trump and DeSantis. I like his act the best.
But it is only an act. There are plenty of red flags in his background, and I don't like the looks of his big money sponsors.
She was a clown at the debate. She has been a clown her whole career. They can install Nimrata Randhawa without me... I’ll go fishing that day.
I can do without Bush in a dress.
An armistice & plebiscites are needed in eastern Ukraine.
Some people have to help Nikki resolve her natural born issue. I’m not going to vote to elect someone whom the courts might find unqualified.
I think she’s quite capable but both Vivek and Nikki are going to have to legally prove they meet the natural born requirement for President. Arguments outside of a courtroom are insufficient.
Any reason she is not using her birth name?
Nimrata Nikki Randhawa
My goodness… these writers are OVERDOSING ON HOPIUM. It must be contagion from Haley’s Neocon Ukraine Project Hopium.
Let's hope it's never her turn. Nobody deserves my vote for President, because it's "their turn."
Not in this universe.
Just silly.
Bahahahaha Bahahaha
That’s so stupid
Yahoo has been hittin’ da Yahoo again. LOL.
I learned a long time ago, that when the media pushes a Republican for President, to turn and run the other way. They will never have our best interest in mind.
Correct, two lines of thought on that and the US Supreme Court is unlikely to get themselves involved so it is up to us to address at the ballot box. I will not vote for a ticket that includes as president or VP a candidate who was not born in the US of two citizen parents. So No to Ramaswamy, Haley, Cruz, Rubio, Obama, etc. Nor to anyone with dual citizenship and allegiances. Plenty of good candidates to choose from.
