If a Vice President had no role other than as a "conveyor belt" why did they alter the Electoral Count Act after Biden got in there?
As a result of Pence's cowardice and a trap Trump didn't avoid giving Biden & Pelosi the optics gift of a capitol riot we are where we are.
I think Ted Cruz had the right idea which was follow history and allow Congress to investigate the claims and make a determination. They punted. They were over Trump and wanted to see him gone regardless of whatever actually happened in WI or GA or AZ. There were many cowards that day and many more corrupted with power and avarice in their hearts.
If they cared about the American People, respected the voters, they would've handled this differently. If Trump was full of crap, they owed it to America to make him put up or shut up on his contest claims. They didn't because they knew this would be useful to them down the road politically. It's shameful.
Now he's facing law fare, schemes to destroying democracy to save democracy. If his claims are BS and he was corrupt & did the crimes there's no reason to keep him off the ballot. Trust the voters. If he's really just the Wizard of Oz behind the curtain, and the corrupt grifter he's painted as, his MAGA support will deflate and folks will move on.
I ask myself why are they so terrified of Trump getting reelected? He's just a man and already ran the country with peace & prosperity.
My primary concern if he gets reelected is whether he'll have quality picks for his administration or will he have to pick among the 2nd tier grifters and suck-ups? Who will want to work for Trump on behalf of the American People? Secondarily is how has Trump in 2024 changed and can he succeed in a second term with all that's happened? I would prefer an alternative but no one has stepped up.
All the little, one fat, pukes on that stage were pathetic Deep State puppets who allowed themselves to have to raise their hands like freakin’ kindergartners and bow down to this cold as ice automaton Pence.

I do not care about conflicting accounts. I don’t care about a single thing a long term politician has to say. I care about what they have done - concrete action with positive, measurable results.
Pence’s problem is not that he can’t justify his actions to the American public but at night when he closes his eyes he can’t justify it to himself.

Am thinking Trump knew something double plus ungood was up at the Capital that day and delayed his speech to throw off the baddies’ timing.

Pence is a professional politician who has been plying the influence trade his entire adult life. But without an elected position, he has nothing to trade. He knows he’s not going to be president. Pence also knows that both IN senators Young and Braun have been in the US Senate a comparatively short time. Indiana’s current Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch (Who?) is running for governor in 2024. Those are three high-level elected positions for which Pence could be recruited if any of the candidates falter. He’s counting on at least one of them faltering so he can swoop in and save the day with his status as longtime IN public servant and his presidential candidacy name recognition.
So.. Our system of checks and balances should never actually CHECK or BALANCE anything.
Why bother having him in the chain of events at all if all he is was a rubber stamp?
