York County didn't qualify to receive low-interest loans to help residents and businesses impacted by severe weather earlier this month.
The announcement came after a federal survey team from the U.S. Small Business Administration visited the county this week to assess damage caused by tornadoes and severe storms on Aug. 7.
The SBA didn't say why York County didn't qualify for assistance.
The National Weather Service confirmed two tornadoes touched down – one in Manheim Township and the other in East Hopewell Township.
Thousands of people were without power for up to a week.
Some families said it will take months before repairs are complete on their homes.

Two tornadoes? I knew about one, but hadn’t heard about a second funnel.
It was the same storm cell...touched down first in Manheim near N. Church St & Lineboro Rd; then partially retreated but uprooted some huge trees just north of Shrewsbury (a big sycamore along the Trail and a huge oak just north of the Home Depot) before touching down again near the old GC & N.
Same cell also produced a touchdown in Lanco.
I was just down to see it w/ Sherry on Tuesday — didn’t see any damage along the way — and what a gutwrenching, heartbreaking
disaster wreck the place is... sorry we stopped in.
“The crown jewel of North Hopewell Township” (as Larry Bailets would say) has lost its luster.
There are insufficient words.
But the Lambs Ear I bought toward the end is still flourishing and migrating.
If only those people were Ukrainians or muslim, they would receive billions, under the table and in the dead of night.

Homeowners insurance must not be available in PA.
I’m getting sick and tired of paying twice for other peoples bad choices. I pay my insurance premium and also pay taxes (way more than a ‘fair share’).
