The coordinated attack on trans rights in state legislatures across the US is built on a foundation of hateful paranoia and right-wing lies. But however unpopular anti-trans bills are, the human costs are real: thousands are migrating from anti-trans states.

This law actually protects transgendered individuals. Me being a father if I saw my daughter enter a public restroom and an adult male followed her in I would rip his arms off and beat him with the bloody ends.
I’ll bet the headline is a lie as well.
I think public opinion is in favor of the bans.
It’s a very small vocal minority that is making all the waves.
Of course it is. These people cannot tell the truth, because it would show them up for what they are.
“Jacobin is a leading voice of the American left, offering socialist perspectives on politics, economics, and culture. The print magazine is released quarterly and reaches 75,000 subscribers, in addition to a web audience of over 3,000,000 a month.”
From the website.
Every poll I’ve seen said most people don’t want born-male “trans women” playing in women’s sports, not sure what this author is talking about with “unpopular” bills.
The response all depends on who you ask.
If people have given the topic any serious thought at all, they’re going to be on one side of the discussion.
Those who say they ‘don’t know’ or have no opinion are most likely just afraid of triggering their friends, so they
‘mouse’ up.
I live in Atlanta. My daughter is a sophomore in public HS inside the perimeter. This is NOT a conservative area.
ALL of her girl friends despise woke ideology. That includes AA girls.
I think there is a generational backlash coming in this country.
I drove 7 of the girls to Lake Lanier Sunday to go boating and the conversation was fascinating to listen to. They are pissed about Snow White. They hate the LGBTQ-XYZ club it/they/thems. They are sick of all of it.
Further, most of them are athletes and they find it offensive that boys may compete against them. Go watch a cross country meet finish line and tell these girls they are equal. They know.
Anyway, the premise of this article is flawed, as you already know. The laws are following the will of the people, unlike most laws.
Next we’ll hear that corn pop cereal is “right-wing” cereal.
Can’t they come up with something better?
Right up there with The Nation and Mother Jones.
Just about every person I talk to thinks the non stop trans propaganda is out of control. Guys playing sports against girls and men using women’s locker rooms is perverted and wrong. They are allowing perverts access to children. Parents who support the trans agenda are setting their kids up to be abused by these freaks.
Jacobin is full of leftist lies. Its whole purpose of existence is to spread lies.
The headline’s lie is revealed in the interview:
DOUG HENWOOD
How would you characterize the state of public opinion now? It seems that the broad public isn’t necessarily on board with the full agenda of the trans haters — many people seem to have a live and let live attitude (which is not to minimize the threat of the haters). But what would you say about the general drift of public opinion at this point?
ERIN REED
There are various ways to frame the question: Are you in favor of gender-affirming care for transgender youth? Are you in favor of criminalizing gender-affirming care? Do you support trans people in sports? Do you support laws protecting trans people from discrimination? And I’ll be frank, the polls are all over the place, depending on the wording.
People do generally support nondiscrimination protections for transgender people, and they tend to oppose criminalizing gender-affirming care for transgender youth and adults.
What is constant is that whenever you ask people what the most important issues are, or do you think your legislators should spend time legislating on this stuff, transgender issues always end up at the bottom. On top of that, people do generally support nondiscrimination protections for transgender people, and they tend to oppose criminalizing gender-affirming care for transgender youth and adults.
But the biggest thing I want to highlight is that there’s a lot of uncertainty in the polling because people don’t know much about transgender care. A lot of people haven’t had to live the life of a parent with a trans kid or as a transgender person themselves. So I think most people understand their own limitations of understanding on this. And they understand that it’s important to let these decisions be undertaken by the doctors, the patients, and, in the cases of kids, the family.
The lie is that someone can be transgender. You are what your biological sex is. Live in the real world!
And I don’t believe there are thousands of transgenders to “migrate from anti-trans states.” What share of the US population are they? One in ten thousand? It seems to me that they are as common as the proverbial hen’s teeth.
“Erin Reed is an American journalist and transgender rights activist. Reed posts on Twitter and Substack as Erin in the Morning.”
Have you seen the photos of “Erin Reed”? I dont know if that is an ungly man or a hideous woman...
Actually - they appear to be based on biology, the basic concepts of language, and common decency.

...everything these days is a big-fat-lie, Thanks JoBama!
Even the headline is a lie.
