The Greek myth of Medusa takes many forms, but the most common is this: Medusa was a woman who, having angered the goddess Athena, was made into a monster. Athena punished Medusa by turning her hair into a writhing tangle of serpents, and then by ensuring that anyone who looked into Medusa’s eyes would be turned to stone. In shaping their story of a gaze made violent, the creators of that early democracy were prescient about the man who has tried to destroy ours. Donald Trump’s head may be covered in spray rather than snakes, but he is a Medusa all the same, reconfigured for the age of mass media: Once you look at him, your fate is already sealed.
Last night, the 45th president became inmate number P01135809 of Georgia’s Fulton County Jail. Trump had his mug shot taken. It was shared with the public. We looked, of course. And he was prepared for our gaze: hair, makeup, angle, pose. In the portrait—it is a portrait, in the end—Trump glares directly into the camera. He seethes. He glowers. He turns in a studied performance. Photos like this are typically exercises in enforced humility. Trump’s is a display of ongoing power. He treats his mug shot as our menace.

Their fear of this man is palpable. Truly in the realm of unrecoverable madness. Would feel sorry for them if they weren’t so dangerous.
I have wondered for many years what the “last straw” will ultimately be.
We seem exceedingly close to that event, to me, with this mug shot; and it starts with my screen name from long ago when people finally do not consent... and say plainly say: No!
Oh….the little Democrat children thought President Trump should look sad.
They need to grow up.
I’m tired of Democrat children.
Proof they want to break him.

They wanted to humble President Trump. Instead, Donald Trump gave them the most iconic visage of sheer defiance in American history. A look of defiance together with searing contempt.
The look is reminiscent of Uncle Sam’s renowned “I want you” posters.

Other than that, the journalist seems to be irked that Trump's mugshot doesn't depict him as defeated. Instead, he appears to be emboldened. Hopefully, for once, he hires a solid legal team.
If the cameras love Trump then he loved them back.
Love it.
We must submit; it is illegal to fight the Left.
The Left never really does panic like some people think they do. When they get into a bind, they will just roll out another lie. It is then echoed by the press. Works everytime.
The government is suing SpaceX for hiring Americans, as opposed to illegals and supposed refugees. Just a few years ago, that would have caused consternation and outrage nationwide. Now, it doesn’t. No Republicans in Congress will at least open their mouths in protest.
Jim Jordan may exercise extreme boldness and start another investigation.
I’m joking but half heartedly cause what I’m about to say is probably true.
This will be the basis for another indictment for witness tampering and intimidation.
How come Hillary Clinton and Stacey Abrams have not been Indicted on the same things ?
Breathe into a paper bag... “Atlantic Magazine” - You need to know this for hyperventilation!
Screw you, Atlantic.
me gan sounds overly bitter for a journ a list.🙄
Well, at least they’re admitting this whole thing is about trying to humiliate Trump.

No... they are a method by which police can identify people by more than just a name. Only a libtard would see this as a punishment process.
I wish he’d smiled in a “Howdy, folks” kind of way. Looking peeved was a lost opportunity imo.
A fight for survival is no place for playing “stepin fetchit.”
The passive wing of the GOP would have loved to have a Jeb Bush who would have grinned and spread his cheeks in this situation. Fortunately, it didn’t turn out that way.
