Ukrainian forces have carried out their most complex and ambitious operations to date against Russian military facilities in the occupied region of Crimea, officials in Kyiv have said.
Special forces landed on the western shore of Crimea, near the settlements of Olenivka and Mayak, in a joint operation with the country’s Navy, according to Ukrainian Defense Intelligence.
“While performing the task, Ukrainian defenders clashed with the occupier’s units. As a result, the enemy suffered losses among its personnel and destroyed enemy equipment,” the intelligence agency said.
While they were there, the Ukrainian unit also raised the national flag, it added.

I don’t care who wins or loses. I just want it to stop.
They are home. Have you ever been to Crimea? I have. It’s Russian.
“Ukraine is absolutely finished. It’s just matter of how many more lives will be lost and how much more territory it loses before it surrenders.”
Sadly, I don’t think they have the capacity to surrender. Their decisions are being made by oligarchs lying at beaches thousands of miles away.
No, this was a commando raid on the radar/SAM site:
UKR GUR forces has landed on Tarkhankut cape in Crimea and reportedly destroyed long-range radars of 3rd radiotechnical regiment of Air-Space Forces near Mayak village.
Tarkhankut cape - place of the raid. In the foreground the same camping, meant in Russian TG. Radar platoon baracks is in area of lighthouse on background. Radar site is about 2 km from lighthouse - somewhere in upper left corner of the photo.
This is the same site that the Ukrainians attacked an S-400 complex, and filmed it from a drone. Comrades, you must still believe this air defense system is the best, even if it can't do anything about the drone watching its destruction!:
thanks goodness! kick Putins recreated soviet union dream into the gutter!
“What would a Canadian know about fighting?”
You don’t know much about Canadian history. For instance, read up about Passchendaele in WWI, where the Canadians — under incredibly poor conditions (rain, mud, debris, etc.) defeated the Germans and captured the objective. It can be debated — and it was — as to the necessity of the action, especially since the objective was abandoned not long after the victory; but there is no doubt about the bravery of the Canadians who won the battle.
How long is war lasts and how much more territory Ukraine loses solely depends on when the Biden regime and NATO seek an off-ramp.
Excuse me Sparky, If you can’t touch your toes don’t discuss fighting.
we put a flag on the moon, didn't stop the Ruskies.
BTW: I can touch my toes; and I can see them without having to lean forward. I'm also very fit for an old guy in his 70s. Then again, I have always been fit, as that's the way I was raised. But, I can't say that about you young guys. We geezers are not as spry as we once were, but many of us can still hold our own. Don't sell old guys short, kid.
In any event, you could not refute my comment, so you do what you always do: You scurry off to the side and lob ad hominems, and then scurry away. Grow up, kid.
Today’s feel-good story. We could use one.
What would you know about fighting?
He’s a useless troll.
Why haven’t you been banned from Freerepublic?

DD-214.
You don’t have one.
And you never will.

Yep, and unlike the US which waited it out, Canada declared War on Germany right after the invasion of Poland.
Why is it a good idea to have Ukraine surrender? You want Putin to get handed a victory? That would make the U.S. look even weaker than it does now. First we sell out our Afghan friends, then we sell out Ukraine. You guys should sign up for a job in the Kremlin.
