At the center of the stage, and the center of the debate's hottest exchanges, was a 38-year-old man who no one expected to be there even a few months ago – a novice candidate and technology entrepreneur named Vivek Ramaswamy.
Though he’s well behind Trump, Ramaswamy has crept up in recent polls, leading to his position next to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at center stage. And he quickly showed why when he showcased his ready-for-video, on-message approach, talking about how his poor parents moved to the U.S. and he had the ability to found billion-dollar companies. Mp> Then Ramaswamy tried to show he wasn’t a regular politician and started to throw elbows. At one point he declared “I’m the only person on the stage who isn’t bought and paid for.” He slammed his rivals as “super PAC puppets” who were using “readymade, pre-prepared slogans” to attack him.
He seemed to be betting that primary voters preferred something memorable said to something done. His rivals were having none of it.

Would make a good VP.
He’s the only one debating who doesn’t think Ukraine should be our 51st. state.
Certainly a colossal improvement on the current VP.
Nikki Haley claming the USA has “moral authority” to intervene in a war. Priceless. Is the USA more moral than Russia? Yes, but it’s all relative.
Like a boss. The problem is there were too many cadidates on stage and that lessened his airtime. It reminded me of Trump’s first 2015 debate when he was overshadowed by all the noise and squabbling.
Interesting candidate. Yet would like to know more about his Hindu beliefs. White Christian candidates are often openly mocked and queried in the MSM and on line about their beliefs, religion, race and gender. Its only fair to ask Vivek if he really believes in multiple gods and goddesses who affect human behavior. If he does which of them and how will they affect his Presidency. Also does he believe in the caste system? The caste system relegates a person’s destiny at birth and has its origins in skin tone. If he believes in such a tenet of Hinduism , how will he serve and lead a country as diverse as America. In India, Hindus openly persecute Christians and Muslims. Does he share such animus?
I’ve been very critical of Trump lately, even if that’s not the popular FR opinion, but this debate is a good reminder on why exactly he has the popularity that he does. No Russian ever called me a privileged white male, to paraphrase Muhammad Ali. Enough with the war rhetoric against a country that never attacked us
I maintain though that I’m looking for new leadership. Trump could have pardoned Assange and Snowden but didn’t, plus COVID lockdowns, plus a pattern of bad hires. Trump absolutely did a lot of good, you can see that from my old posts where I defended him even if I get called a “Soros paid shill” now lol, but nonetheless.
The race now should be Vivek, DeSantis, and Trump. The rest I don’t even know why they’re running. Nikki Haley is extremely annoying with all her feminist leftist girlboss rhetoric. Pence just seems clueless as to the challenges we face right now with his “rah rah America” rhetoric. This isn’t 1980 anymore and our country has serious problems and just pretending they don’t exist won’t fix that.
Haley is Neocon at highest level. She will get us into every war she can.
All these career politicians want to spend money in Ukraine, but nobody said a word about national debt. Next year, interest paid on national debt will be bigger than defense budget.
Phonyswamy was a disgrace. If that’s the future of our country, we’re doomed. He needs to be pushed back to Soros and Democrats from whence he came.
With every passing minute it appeared more and more that Vivek was running for Trump’s VP.
Haley and Hutchinson completely disqualified themselves, not just from POTUS but also from any kind of cabinet position. Keep them far away from power.
Hutchinson’s line about a minor riot like J6 being an “insurrection”, if I wanted to hear lies I’d just flip the channel to MSNBC
Vivek seems like the only guy on stage who actually read the constitution and believes in it. some day the tv debate will have someone hold up the thing and only answer questions related to the enumerated powers in it. and tell the rest to go pound sand. and i know the trumpers think he is a constitutional conservative but i listened to the tucker interview and he is interviewing for a talk show host.
Fake. Phony. Fraud.
They need to get serious about his constitutional eligibility to be president. The will become an issue as he becomes more popular.
Not bought and paid for?
No, this Soros-funded Yale law grad was just miraculously made a billionaire by buying and selling drugs and treatments for rare diseases that overwhelmingly haven’t worked out.
Nothing to see here.
Steamrolled Desanctimonius
Vivek got beaten up and lost badly.
The caste system doesn’t come from Hinduism.
Vivek is not running for Pope. He is running for MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. What does that have to do with his religion?
While you bring up Hindu religion, It is the most tolerant religion of all major religions. Hindu’s do not send missionaries all over the world. They send none! Hindu religion does not teach murdering non-believers. It is 180 degree opposite. Hindu’s believe all prayers reach God regardless of religion.
If he read the Constitution, how come he doesn’t know the meaning of natural born citizen?
