Energy policy is emerging as a key issue in the 2024 presidential race, as Republican candidates and officials have slammed the Biden administration’s sweeping climate agenda for its role in driving up costs for Americans and increasing dependence on adversarial countries.
The Biden administration has stated its goal of having the U.S. power sector achieve net-zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2035, and having the overall U.S. economy reach net-zero by 2050. Fossil fuels provided nearly 80% of the energy consumed by Americans in 2022, while just over 20% of consumed energy came from nuclear energy and green technology in 2022, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
Oh,well in that case...... We’ve been on the “equal payment” plan for over a decade. Thinking NVenergy considers raising my equal payment from $131/mth in April ‘22 to now $283/mth. Fifteen months payment changed 4 times based on “after reviewing your account....”. Yeah, I just reviewed it too. Usage has barely changed and we had no HVAC for 7 weeks this summer. Just tell consumers “Our costs to provide you energy have increased so we need to raise your rates.”
Yes,well, this serves to illustrate why the Democrat Party beleives the “democracy” is too important to be left in the hands of the voters.
Yep, who cares what the “unwashed” think?
The trouble is, the overwhelming majority of Democrats don't give a **** about what the overwhelming majority of Americans think, and they largely hold the power to ignore.
Will it matter at the ballot box? I think not.
And the bureaucrats are suppose to care???
