Former Baltimore Ravens and Carolina Panthers player Michael Oher has criticized the accuracy of the 2009 movie 'The Blind Side' which is based on his life before he entered the NFL.
Oher was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2009, where he would later win a Super Bowl, before going on to play for the Tennessee Titans and the Carolina Panthers.
Oher was taken in by Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, which is the key premise of the movie. However, it emerged on Aug. 14 that Oher had filed a petition in court in Shelby County, Tennessee, alleging that the Tuohy family tricked him into signing paperwork that made them his conservators.
Oher was never actually adopted and he alleges he was not properly informed about the paperwork he signed which gave the family power to do financial deals using his name. It's been alleged in documents that the Tuohy family used their conservator power to strike deals that saw them earn more than $300 million following the movie......
"You have to understand that (‘The Blind Side’) came out in 2009. When I moved in with the (Tuohy) family, I was an All-American football player already.
"I was 18, and I moved in a couple of weeks before senior year of high school. I had been through the journey I’d already traveled, which was a success in its own, coming from where I came from. So, you have to give some credit right there."

It is interesting that this article states: " When I moved in with the (Tuohy) family, I was an All-American football player already. "I was 18, and I moved in a couple of weeks before senior year of high school"
While a yahoo article states: " It was after moving in with the Tuohys at age 16 that Oher found his footing in the classroom and began to unlock his NFL potential on the football field."

I think he’s full of it and not appreciative of those who helped him….
…also he’s trying to sell a book
Why is this even in the news? My irrelevancy meter is pegged at 100%.
Oher is just trying to sell a book. His press agent is just making this up to get into the news. The Tuohys and Oher have not seen each other in a decade. We should not care about this at all. Hes just another NFL millionaire who has spent all the money before he turns 40. This is why reparations would do no good at all. After they get the money they spend it and five years later they are just as poor as ever, maybe more so. And of course they will demand more at that point.
He wrote in his first book that he was under conservatorship, so he knew he was.
They didn’t make $300 million from the rights of the movie. They made about $1.5 million.
He wrote in his first book that he was under conservatorship, so he knew he was.
They didn’t make $300 million from the rights of the movie. They made about $1.5 million.
They split that evenly with everybody.
$300 million? Box Office Mojo lists the entire worldwide box office for the movie as $309,208,309. Did they get that entire amount and leave nothing for the naive waifs in the studio? Did they take all of the actors', crew's and theater owners' earnings too? Did they snag Oher's entire NFL earnings of $34.5 million (as estimated by Spotrac?
Another article here said that the Tuohy family probably got around $200,000 for the story. Maintaing any conservator after adulthood, especially after he entered the NFL is more than a little weird. But did they do anything with it, or did they just suppose it expired and ignored it?
You are correct.
I read about Britney Spears conservatorship with her dad...She couldn’t spend a dime without his okay....Who spent the multi millions form the NFL??? Did Michael spend it??? Then the conservatorship was null and void.....
also he could barely read...Jason Whitlock said Oher stated he liked the book better than the movie..The book basically says he was an illiterate......The author ,Michael Lewis said Oher turned down the royalty checks..I figure he was making millions in the NFL and never figured the end would be so soon...
Somebody has filled Oher’s head with garbage that he believes.....He should be grateful .Progressives and black activists condemn the Tuohy’s as white saviors...For Michael, they were.....
Same happened with Krapperdick, got him to turn against his white parents.
Jason Whitlock read Oher’s first book..Oher admitted he wanted to do basketball....
I’m sure it expired..They were too busy to spend Oher’s football money..He spent it and he is broke...Wants to relive his short glory days....With new book, maybe a movie or tv series..Maybe a few more books...Wonder if he had to have a ghostwriter for his “”books””???
Scott Adams was right..Which piss&d off the victim crowd....
If he had been adopted, he certainly would have taken their last name.
He knew he couldn’t be adopted at his age. He had a family situation for possibly the first time in his life.
That poor family. No good deed goes unpunished.
I am willing to be some racial agitator reached out to him to start this crap.
The wife seems to be the instigator because Oher’s relationship with the Tuohy’s didn’t start to deterioriate until she was in his life.
Also, Jason Whitlock suggests that Michael may be courting controversy because he wants his second book to be turned into a Blind Side II and he’s hoping it will make $300 million as well.
He coulda stayed with his crack Ho Baby Mama and he’d be dead or in jail.. Evil white Devils denied him his Black Culture...
With all this guy’s complaints about the movie, I find it amusing that he doesn’t take issue with the basic premise of the movie — that he was a quasi-retarded oaf.
Somebody has filled Oher’s head with garbage that he believes.....

Michael Oher’s new wife has filled his head with garbage.
