Election season is rapidly approaching. The first Republican debate is this week. The Iowa caucus is in January, and the New Hampshire primary is soon thereafter. With over a dozen declared candidates, the marathon placements are starting to take shape.
For now, don't lean too heavily on polls. First, we're too far out, and too much can happen. Second, we all know how we feel about polls. The poll showing our candidate doing well is Gospel. The poll showing our candidate faring poorly is Soros-funded dreck. As the polls change direction, so too change their designations. Rinse. Repeat.
But taking this into consideration, it is undeniable that, if all primary voting were held today, then Trump would win handily, DeSantis would come in a solid second, and both Ramaswamy and Scott will have garnered enough second-tier support to warrant vice presidential consideration. Unfortunately for whichever camp you fall into, the polling so far suggests that Trump can't lose the primary and can't win the general election.
But what should be a civil discussion among rational conservatives is turning personal and nasty — not just among candidates, but among their supporters as well. Trump-supporters are treating DeSantis-supporters like neocon sellouts, and DeSantis-supporters are treating Trump-supporters like cultish conspiracy theorists. Neither charge is merited, and the rabble-rousers on both sides would do well to cut the ad hominem attacks. Such are the tactics of leftists peddling the sexualization of children, not of principled Americans who reasonably disagree about the best path forward.

“people here are doing the exact same thing.....for the exact same reason.”
not really ... i think the bulk of anti-Trump trolls here are really being paid by pro-biden forces to sow discontent here ... all you have to do is look at their posting history to see that they mostly just post anti-Trump stuff under the guise of being pro-somebody-else ...
lolol. It might work. It also might work out like it did for Palin.
But as far as we know - Noem has not said one cross word against trump. So he hasn't insulted her and called her names. Yet. Noem is one of a very few individuals who has not been subjected to Trump's vile anger and hostility.
Yet.
Again, anything Trump said or did not say has no relevance to my point. “He said it too” is a child’s defense
“Exactly. If Trump is not elected in 2024, then the USA is not worth saving.”
The poster did not say that, did not infer that, did not mean that. He is saying that if Trump is defeated, then the nation is over because the other candidates can’t or do not want to stem the tide of destruction.
Maybe that is why you are a Trump hater, you have no ability to read.
DeSantis 49.6%
Gillum 49.2%
With a margin of 0.4%, this election was the closest race of the 2018 gubernatorial election cycle.
>> You have stated the plain truth in as clear a manner as ever I’ve seen
So the plain truth stated clearly is that Trump supporters have nothing to wear except Trump tee shirts!
I’d call that a comment born out of delusion.
Other than Lincoln Log Project homosexuals and Chamber of Commerce globalists, who are these voters who would support DeSantis in 2024 but not Trump?
Sure, if Trump wants to spite the country for us on martyrdom. |
Very possible outcome. One in which Only Trumpers would support.
“Trump was beat by massive fraud, not Biden”.
Assuming your point is correct, that raises another crucial point. With the exception of NV, the swing states where the alleged voting fraud took place in 2020 (PA, MI, WI, AZ) are firmly controlled by Democrats, so nothing concerning the voting apparatus will change in 2024. The same procedures will be alive and well in Philly, Detroit, Milwaukee and Maricopa County.
Georgia is controlled by the GOP, but Trump shouldn’t expect much help there, given that he primaried the sitting governor last year.
Trump has no path to victory in a General Election against Biden. In the event someone like DeSantis were nominated, Biden would step aside and give Newsom a shot. But even the corrupt and feeble Biden knows he can defeat Trump, after which he would turn the keys over to Kamala Harris. Scary!
Well I certainly don’t want to be left with Meatball and his cohorts if Trump isn’t in it.
I won’t do GOPe.
The little twerp DeSantis is over, so get over him.

How can we? We’ve got SoCon Pubbie and many others posting hourly on anti-RDS threads.
Why? Because they’re afraid of DeSantis?
I guess the pay is good.
—> I think pretty much everyone realizes on some level its more than likely there will not be a 2024 election.
I think both possible and probable.
Karl Rove, Mitt Romney?
When Trump apologizes to DeSantis for the many names and nasty tweets he’s done. I’d be all in with DeSantis apologizing following trump’s apology.
So, you can’t be polite in naming DeSantis, and you won’t support him if Trump is not the nominee. So, he will support Biden or the Democrat? Or sit on your hands and not vote?
>> lolol. Nailed it. Just like the Monday Morning Quarterbacks we have here at FR
Continuing with your football metaphor, did you ever see that game — probably has happened more than once — where the laughing, celebrating wide receiver running for the come-from-behind touchdown exuberantly spikes the ball on the five yard line instead of in the end zone?
Similar in your cases, except y’all are on about your own forty.
Just sayin’.
DeSantis will finish his governorship and run for senate after Scott retires. As an elderly senator, Scott only has one term left. DeSantis can be a senator for awhile and run for president later. He’s got a future because he has time unlike others who are at the tail end of life:
Maybe that is why you are a Trump hater, you have no ability to read.

I don’t think anybody want to see a former president in jail. It’s a total embarrassment to the country.
