It's not our first tropical storm in 84 years. We were hit by Katherine in 1963 and Kathleen in 1976. Both brought significant amounts of rain.
The one 84 years ago was a hurricane, although just barely a Category 1.

In the winter we had two jet streams mix and gave huge amounts of rain in California and now we had a tropical storm with a lot of rain if that’s climate change count me in for more.
Warnings were given hours before the arrival of what was in California a storm.
