Vivek Ramaswamy corrects previous assertion that homosexuality is 'hardwired' from birth

The GOP presidential candidate backtracked and said, ‘There is no gay gene.’

(LifeSiteNews) — After briefly veering a bit off course from his foundational TRUTH-grounded campaign, GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy seems to have made an important course correction.

A few weeks ago, the candidate declared unequivocally that homosexuality is “hardwired” at birth.

“The gay rights movement was predicated on the idea, which I’m quite sympathetic to, that the sex of the person that you’re attracted to is hardwired on the day you’re born,” Ramaswamy said in July.

His assertion that homosexuality is an immutable trait was based on an untruth — a lie — long advanced by the political left to increase unwarranted LGBT rights, including the U.S. Supreme Court’s unconscionable Obergefell decision that shredded society’s concept of marriage while throwing open the door to the plague of transgenderism.

LifeSiteNews challenged Ramaswamy in a commentary published Friday, August 12, citing scientific studies that “explode the false narrative that being ‘gay’ is an innate condition that is controlled or largely compelled by one’s genetic makeup,” according to a recent report by the Ruth Institute.

The report noted that despite decades of desperate research hoping to prove that homosexuality is an innate, immutable trait, even the American Psychological Association (APA) has been forced to conclude that “there is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay, or lesbian orientation.”

Course correction

By Sunday, August 14, just 48 hours later, the presidential hopeful had recalibrated his message, distancing himself from his previous statements asserting that homosexuality is innate.

In an X (formerly Twitter) post about an impromptu encounter with a self-identifying “pansexual” activist at the Iowa State Fair caught on video, Ramaswamy stated there is “no gay gene” while citing the conflicting beliefs maintained by the LGBTQ+ political left in order to justify ongoing erosion of immutable truth as a matter of law, regulation, and culture:

"The LGBTQ movement protests that the sex of the person you’re attracted to is hardwired at birth even though there’s no gay gene, yet *also* requires you to believe that your sex is totally fluid over the course of life even though there’s clearly a sex chromosome. You can’t believe both of these things at once, yet they call you a bigot unless you do. That’s just the hard TRUTH."

You can’t… https://t.co/ZUs0RMfN3s

The activist approached Ramaswamy and asked, “What were your opinions on the LGBTQ+ community?”

“I don’t think it’s one community,” Ramaswamy said. “I mean, how could it be? Just mash together an alphabet soup. Trans is fundamentally in tension with gay if you ask me.”

Questioned about same-sex couples, he indicated that he doesn’t “have a negative view of same-sex couples, but I do have a negative view of a tyranny of the minority.”

He continued:

"I think that in the name of protecting against the tyranny of the majority — and there are times in this country’s history where we have had a tyranny of the majority — we have now in the name of protecting against tyranny of the majority created a new tyranny of the minority.

"And I think that that’s wrong. I don’t think that somebody who’s religious should be forced to officiate a wedding that they disagree with.

"I don’t think somebody who is a woman who’s worked really hard for her achievements should be forced to compete against a biological man in a swim competition.

"I don’t think that somebody who’s a woman that respects her bodily autonomy and dignity should be forced to change clothes in a locker room with a man.

"That’s not freedom. That’s oppression.

"And so I believe that we live in a country where free adults should be free to dress how they want, behave how they want and that’s fine, but you don’t oppress you don’t become oppressive by foisting that on others, and that especially includes kids because kids aren’t the same as adults. And so I think adults are free to make whatever choices they want, but do not foist that ideology onto children before children are in a position as adults to make decisions for themselves.

"And so I think a lot of the frustration in the country, and if I’m being really honest that I also share, comes from that new culture of oppression where saying those things can actually get somebody punished."

The video that was published on X quickly went viral, garnering over 2 million views.

Jordan Peterson recently noted that “Ramaswamy is bright, articulate, and unflappable.”

Ramaswamy is a member of the advisory board “Alliance for Responsible Citizenship” (ARC), a global movement founded by Peterson to push back against the influence of the World Economic Forum (WEF).

He’s also proving to be intellectually curious and honest, exceedingly uncommon but sorely needed traits in the world of politics.

“This is shaping up to be some interesting election,” Peterson added.

He’s a Hindu and you should know what Hindus think about Christians. They have no place running any western country.

Gay men engage in a self-centered sexual perversion that removes the responsibility of behavior in pregnancy. This allows no-consequence maximum promiscuity. However this avoidance of responsibility ignores STDs which is a consequence that they refuse to acknowledge. Those sexual transformations carry the gay sexual perversion one step forward with the means of pregnancy totally removed through sterilization. They carry out the expression, ‘All hat and no cattle’ in that they present the appearance of something they aren’t. It is all for the self-centered experience of sex without responsibility. Darwin is definitely giving out the awards for these self-centered, deluded human beings.

Well, there have been a number of studies on identical twins - where one ends up being gay and the other doesn’t. The conclusions seem to indicate there’s no genetic “fix” at birth. Of course, these aren’t widely reported on.

We shouldn’t celebrate it. There’s no reason to fight about the origin.
Don’t discuss it in school or workplace at all.
There are real issues to discuss.

Don’t mistake my lack or care for support at all.
It’s disgusting.

“ Why is this a topic at all?”

Our schools and culture are awash in it .
It’s actively being forced on society with harmful results.

So fight it being taught at all, not origin stories.

Fighting about the origin is already losing because the issue isn’t the issue.

Yes, there are gay people. There are also people who have cancer. Neither one is normal, but homosexuals CHOOSE to be abnormal, but I’ve never heard of anyone actually choosing to have cancer.

It’s a waste to fight over whether it’s chosen or not.
What do we get by “winning”?
How is it important for the Chief Executive of the US?

“Asserting that some are born to be sexual perverts removes the responsibility of behavior.”

Ditto for murderers and thieves. They may or may not be born that way. But it’s still sin.

You obviously want to win elections. Most republicans only want to win “the most important” issue, whatever that is ...gayness, war, abortion, communism, spending...it’s multiple choice but it’s not winning.
