Trump Leads Big Time in New Poll

The latest non-surprise.

The headline in Monday’s New York Times was this:

Trump Crushing DeSantis and G.O.P. Rivals, Times/Siena Poll Finds

The twice-indicted former president leads across nearly every category and region, as primary voters wave off concerns about his escalating legal jeopardy.

The Times reported:

Former President Donald J. Trump is dominating his rivals for the Republican presidential nomination, leading his nearest challenger, Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, by a landslide 37 percentage points nationally among the likely Republican primary electorate, according to the first New York Times/Siena College poll of the 2024 campaign.

Mr. Trump held decisive advantages across almost every demographic group and region and in every ideological wing of the party, the survey found, as Republican voters waved away concerns about his escalating legal jeopardy. He led by wide margins among men and women, younger and older voters, moderates and conservatives, those who went to college and those who didn’t, and in cities, suburbs and rural areas.

An accompanying analysis by the paper’s chief political analyst, Nate Cohn, said:

But even if it might be a mistake to call Mr. Trump “inevitable,” the Times/Siena data suggests that he commands a seemingly unshakable base of loyal supporters, representing more than one-third of the Republican electorate. Alone, their support is not enough for Mr. Trump to win the primary. But it is large enough to make him extremely hard to defeat — perhaps every bit as hard as the historical record suggests.

Here’s what we know about the depth of the support — and opposition — to Mr. Trump from our poll, and why it’s so hard to beat the former president.

The MAGA base, defined

It’s populist. It’s conservative. It’s blue collar. It’s convinced the nation is on the verge of catastrophe.

In short?

Hell will freeze over before 90 percent of Republicans abandon the former president who they believe has been deliberately — viciously — targeted by the American Establishment/Deep State/Washington Swamp, using every tool at their disposal, specifically the weaponization of the Department of Justice and the FBI. And well beyond this latest New York Times poll, other polls — poll after poll after poll — show exactly the same results. Trump is winning the battle for the 2024 GOP nomination — and winning in a landslide.

I strongly support trump, and by the size of his crowds, it is obvious that he remains very popular. I do believe that there’s not a single poll that csn be taken with confidence.

I don’t care if it is a pro Trump, anti-trump poll or if it is a poll on what kind of food cats prefer to eat. Every poll released is designed to promote an agenda.

He is our last hope

And the Deep State and the leftists know this, which is why Trump will never step foot into the White House as POTUS ever again.

I am listening to so many talk radio hosts that point out that independents do not want him...like 70% and that if he doesn’t start talking about NEW stuff for the FUTURE....he will lose even more conservative votes.

They will never let anyone like him back in the white house either. Cw or acceptance of the swamp is likely the only two options we have left

I agree with the both of you.

IMHO cleaning out DC is “new stuff”.

I really do have to chuckle at idealistic Freepers who simply refuse to see the reality right on front of their faces. You can’t honestly believe that Trump will win in 2024, can you?!

Yeah, 30% of the population loves the guy. The problem is that 35% hate him. Even when he won in 2016 he only got 47% of the popular vote.

Polls are NOT votes so the rapidly aging Trump is winning zero votes as of this morning since zero votes have been cast. Zero votes will be cast until January,.

Yesterday they were touting a shameless Rasmussen poll taken amongst only 250 people, and the very people who are flaunting these meaningless paid for polls are the very same who cry about an election being rigged, that Trump inadvertently paid to have rigged by blindly signing the communist CARES act.

RDS would never be so reckless as to sign something that basically breaks open the doors to our treasury to a bunch of jackals who used the money to steal and store ballots and corrupt the USPS and vote muling in every state except a handful, like in Florida and Iowa, in which their great governors had cleaned out their voter rolls.

There was an article the other day that more money has been spent on attacking DeSantis and Trump than Biden. That’s just a statement of fact. I’m trying to be neutral. The results of that spending are two fold. 1.) Trump is increasing his lead in the polls. He’s impervious to negative ads, indictments and attacks. 2.) DeSantis’ poll numbers are decreasing. They were never close to Trump and they only move further away.

This is a waste of money and resources. Everyone running against Trump should drop out and combine forces and fight the real opponent, Biden or any Democrat that they throw at us.

It’s populist. It’s conservative. It’s blue collar. It’s convinced the nation is on the verge of catastrophe.

It's also middle class... the working class people came on board last. I remember one guy from PA interviewed who said he never thought he would vote Republican - but he did... he voted for Trump.

And as far as 'catastrophe' that's real. If we allow 'DC's white liberal elites' to define who were allowed to vote for - people THEY approve of first - then we don't have a democracy. That's how the old KGB worked it in the USSR - they had 'elections' but the only people allowed to win (or run) were approved by the KGB and Stalin's thugs and goons.

As I said on another board, its finally starting to dawn on them.

Our answer this time and every time is:

“No. Eff you. We’re not going to budge ONE INCH.”

At first I didn’t understand Trump attacking DeSantis prior to RDS getting in the race… now I see the strategy. He has RDS in a box. He has no choice but to attack Trump and by doing so, he weakens his standing with the base. The MAGA base isn’t vitriolic at Vivek because Vivek doesn’t attack Trump. Trump also leaves him alone because he doesn’t perceive him as a threat. I think had Trump not attacked RDS at the very beginning, that Ron would have sided more with DJT. They really aren’t miles apart. I am sure Trump admired the shipping illegals to Martha’s Vineyard. Probably laughed his ass off at that.

I do believe he will. I’m not one of these Doomers who whines incessantly that its all hopeless. What’s the message? We should all slit our wrists right now? Give up?

The Democrats/Deep State would love that. Its BS.

We have to do all we can to prevent as much fraud as we can. Also if Trump wins beyond the margin of fraud, they won’t be able to steal it.

You can steal 1% without too much trouble. 2% is a stretch. If it gets to 6....7.....8%. No way. Everybody across the whole world will see that. There are limits to how much you can steal. If the economy goes into a bad recession in the next year - which I think is coming, the numbers will get ugly for Democrats.
