Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) on Wednesday said he will keep up his battle against the Biden administration and officials who seek to “undermine” the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) as part of their “radical climate agenda” on the first anniversary of it being signed into law.
The West Virginia moderate, in a lengthy statement on the anniversary of the IRA being signed into law, praised parts of the legislation, which he helped author. Manchin lauded the IRA as “one of the most historic pieces of legislation passed in decades,” especially for middle- and working-class families. He also hailed its work to reduce the national debt, lower prescription drug prices and cap the price of insulin for seniors.

Only in government-speak can a bill that spends way more money be said to “reduce national debt”.
Disagree.....he does have a mind of his own.
Politics Not Principle I look at Manchin of Davos and that’s what I see.
Refresh my memory didn’t he vote for that law?
If Manchin was concerned about the country, he wouldn’t have voted for this piece of crap in the first place.
Paragrah 2: “which he helped author” i.e, he helped write the bill.
He did, and he still praises parts of it.
He’s saying that the administration is twisting or breaking that law to avoid saying that he made a mistake or was tricked into voting for it.
He may have a mind of his own, but he also realizes that straddling the fence can be so lucrative. One way to win reelection in West Virginia may be to bring home a load of bacon.
He does have some fans here on FR. For some folks, he seems to benefit from the inverse of the old "one aw $#!+ erases a thousand attaboys" rule.
“The check is in the mail”
Like Turtle, Manchin only works for $$$$ and not America.
This fool is putting on an act in order to fool the people of WVa to reelect his liberal ass. His overall voting record is abysmal.
Did Manchin not say he was going to leave the democrat party recently?.......what happened to that I wonder.
The bill started at 3.5 bil...he wrote it and got it down to 1.9 bil..by helping with the re-write.
Great....after he voted for it. [/s]
Must be an election coming up.
Hypocrite.
What a jerk. Why did he support it in the first place, everyone knew it was a radical climate scam?
He’s a dead man walking in W.V. No way those coal miners are going to support him in 2024 regardless of what the corrupt union leaders say. Without the union vote he’s got nothing.
