Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart – better known as the ubiquitous CAPTCHA we see standing athwart the doors to many websites – may now be a misnomer as researchers have found that computers are much better at completing them.
The bot defense measure dates back to 1997 and the tortured acronym 2003, with the technology starting out as a distorted series of letters and/or numbers. Google's implementation, reCAPTCHA, eventually did away with much of these shenanigans to make the browser identify low-risk human users in the background, but the image verification method still pops up occasionally if risk cannot be ascertained.

Every measure will eventually have a counter measure.
I once sat there for 10 minutes trying to get into a captcha. It’s annoying although it’s gotten better in the last several years. I understand the reasons for defeating bots, because they will get into sites and spam them up, if not worse, but I hate having to get past captcha.
Looking forward to when BOTS are so ubiquitous, that there are BOT CAPTCHA’s, and you have to prove you are a BOT to proceed.
I think this is just an excuse. CAPTCHA was bound to get cancelled after it kept asking people to “mark all the squares that contain WOMEN”. It’s transphobic!!!

After skynet becomes self aware, the bots will run the captchas and the humans will be trying to get in.
I’m sick of trying to find motorcycles, crosswalks, traffic lights and bicycles in small, blurry and low-res pictures, especially when a tiny part of them is in an adjacent frame or it shows up on my phone screen.
I hate captchas, but it looks like they are getting what they deserve. It’s time to lay captchas to rest and realize they were never a “turing test.”
Here’s an easy one to block these. Have photos of some people and ask it to click on the women. These leftist powered bots will never get through.
“Really shouldn’t be a surprise.”
After almost 25 years.

Make a gag one where it says
Click in every square that contains a deep-state shill
And then it just goes on, and on, and on...lol
There’s an endless supply of deep-state shills...
Or one that asks you to choose all leaders who prosecuted their political opponents.
I still find it absurd that I have to “prove I’m a human” to a bot.
