I notice he doesn’t explain how. He can’t use the same laws he used in Florida to do it, so it bears asking how he intends to accomplish this.
Absent that explanation, I have to put this in the category of “blowing smoke”.

There would have been a grand jury and an indictment right there in the public records, as we see happening with Trump.

They’ll hammer us whether we’re silent or not. And even if we said the “right” thing on some topic, the dems/media would just lie and make it seem like we said the “wrong” thing anyway. So it’s no use worrying what they will do.

Dead wrong. It might no longer be an issue with some moderates and independents. But now it becomes a divisive issue within the Republican party again, and we have to fight that battle all over again. Your theoretical candidate that comes out and supports 1st trimester abortions (to be allowed nationwide I am assuming you are talking about), will now lose perhaps 40% of the support in the Republican party and can no longer win a primary. So it’s irrelevant if they could win a national election, because they’ll never get the chance.

Oh sure he opened gas exploration back up, and nominated some decent Supreme Court picks (with McConnell's assistance), but any Republican President would have done that.
Time for a new, younger horse, who's got fresh legs and a chance to actually get these things done, not make them worse like Trump did.

I recommend you look further into the ‘opinions on abortion’. If I understood you correctly, moderates and independents don’t care about abortion. Most ads ran in Ohio were about abortion (from both parties) and we lost.
Whether it’s an issue within the party, I don’t know. Personally, I depise the (uni)party. I made the post for those that claim ‘winning the general is the only thing that matters’. They have to address abortion to do that. Personally I would like to see the party die. They are grifters and hate the voters.
Outside of Trump, there is no passion for the GOP. They are The Seinfeld Party, a party about nothing.

Basically that’s what life boils down to. If winning is that important to you, though, you may find out that you didn’t really win anything, in the end.

No, I didn’t say that. You might win votes from them with a certain stance being “moderate” on abortion. Or you might not. Moderates and independents are fickle by their very nature, so you can’t count those chickens before they hatch. On the other hand, you will most definitely lose loyal Republican votes with such a stance. That may not matter too much in a very moderate state, but it will certainly matter if you want to win a national election.

I don’t know if that’s true. For now, abortion is essentially dead as a national issue. Congress can’t pass a law on it (well they could, but the law would be DOA when it hit the courts), and there’s not much the President can do either. It’s a state issue now. Why should we need to take a stance on state issues in a national election in order to win? Seems foolish to me. I don’t see anyone asking national candidates what the local property tax level should be, or whether they need to change some zoning ordinance or talking about water rights.

The irony is that 45% of Republican voters don’t see this. Prior to Trump, the electorate was fine with watching Hannity complain about Obama or Gowdy grandstanding the Benghazi hearing. They thought the GOP was doing great work ‘complaining’ about the other party while doing business with them behind closed doors. And they sincerely thought THIS was the best job they could do considering the circumstances. Truth be told, the game plan was to keep the voters interested enough to vote but not ACT. That is why we’ve been lied to by everyone for decades including Fox.
Trump shows up and mobilizes millions, parades everywhere etc. At the same time, the uniparty sees this as threatening their gravy train. Trump said things no ‘respectable’ politician would say (McCain’s a loser, Bush shouldn’t have went to Iraq, etc). He quickly alienated the uniparty. Then russiagate drops. They thought voters would abandon Trump, they did not. And the war was on.
The conservative media started undermining Trump when possible as did those who weren’t up for re-election. Voters turned to streaming services for info. Voters learned from real conservative influencers online about ways to get involved in their community and did so. Media/Uniparty were losing their influence and started censoring. Voters did not back down.
The 45% that prefer other candidates do not understand that it ISN’T Trump that the uniparty fears, it’s an active electorate. And an electorate is only active if motivated. No other candidate or politician can do that. The uniparty is fine with any other candidate, win or lose.
The 45% don’t understand that Trump is an unfiltered salesman, period. His imperfections don’t matter because he motivates people like no other. What else matters? He gave the RNC policies and the entire party rejected it. Those policies appealed to more than Republicans. He grew the party. The Republican party doesn’t want any of that.
The 45% are fine with returning to pre-Trump. They seem to believe that any other candidate will be able to deliver the policies we want with the same uniparty. Never happen. Especially with an electorate that went back to sleep. We got the border wall because voters were harassing their representatives about it. The uniparty had to fold on that eventually. We made the wall happen.

Yes, there are a lot of DeSantis supporters out in force today. Some of them I recognize, but a number of them I’ve never seen on this forum before. Makes you wonder.
