I've learned long ago never to trust authorities to take care of anything. We all need to be prepared for emergencies on our own - and time we choose to act.

I don't understand why if you know an Island area is on fire and there's hurricane winds coming why you wouldn't leave the area to another part of the Island. Keeping tank full and other basic actions to secure yourself BEFORE waiting for government? If you smell the smoke you darn well need to bail the area.

Smell the smoke? Lol

If you live in southern Oregon, you always smell smoke. It’s so thick today you can’t see the foothills. 110 degrees. Typical for this time of year.
