These are state charges, not federal. The president cannot pardon someone from state charges.

Not true. Presidents have pardoned lots of people in the past convicted in state courts.

Read US Constitution and show me where it says President can only pardon those convicted in federal courts.
When I had to study constitution before my naturalized citizenship, I recall what is said is president shall have the power to pardon anyone convicted.
