The catastrophic wildfires on Maui have spurred many to speculate on what caused such a tragedy on an otherwise lush tropical island. And, of course, many in the climate cult are simply closing their eyes, covering their ears, and shouting that climate change is the cause of this tragedy, and that everyone of us with our use of fossil fuels is personally to blame.
As of this writing, at least 93 are dead and the community of Lahaina lies in smoldering ruins as firefighters struggle to contain blazes on the island. People have been stunned to hear about a wildfire, of all things, devastating a tropical paradise. Such things are only supposed to occur in dry areas such as the American West or Australia — not on a lush tropical island.
And many are blaming climate change, perhaps not for the fires themselves but for leading to conditions that could allow such a conflagration to occur.
Climate change is “leading to these unpredictable or unforeseen combinations that we’re seeing right now and that are fueling this extreme fire weather,” Kelsey Copes-Gerbitz, a postdoctoral researcher said. “What these … catastrophic wildfire disasters are revealing is that nowhere is immune to the issue.”
Officials in Hawaii pleaded ignorance when asked why more wasn’t done to get people out of the fire’s path.
“We’ve never experienced a wildfire that affected a city like this, so this is something we’ve not experienced before,” said Governor Josh Green.
“We have experienced wildfires across the state and they’ve been tragic, but usually tragic in open space,” Green added. So, they knew wildfires were a possibility, they just didn’t know they were possible in places where people resided?

If it’s due to global warming, then all flights into the Hawaiian islands must be stopped until we can reverse global warming.
What a weak article. The real causes:
1. The pineapple plantation companies left Maui.
2. The pineapple fields were no longer irrigated and fell into ruin.
3. Non-native, highly flammable invasive grasses took over the fields.
4. Nobody was responsible for controlling the explosive growth of the grasses.
5. The tall, combustible grasses grew right up to the edge of Lahaina.
6. The government did not demand fuel load reduction programs.
7. The government KNEW of the fire hazard posed by the grasses and did nothing.
8. The government run warning system that falsely alarmed incoming Russian nuclear attack failed to go off.
Any political party that would weaponize the US justice system to bypass legit elections for political reasons is a party that would release a virus for political reasons and yes, burn an island to the ground for political reasons. We ARE dealing with extreme evil that treats human life like dirt and I do NOT put anything past these scumrats.
Agree. These people are evil. They don’t care how many people die due to their policies as long as they are in power.
Isn’t it always?
Someone will buy it all up and turn it into another Williamsburg Va...the Colonial Capitol. It was a sleepy little old town until Rockefeller bought up the whole damn town and has made BILLIONS since.

I’ve read that the fire caused residential water lines to leak, causing a reduction of water pressure to fire hydrants.
Water shutoff values could be be spring-loaded to close and only held open by plastic that would melt in a fire.
Swimming pools could be hooked up to irrigation systems and the fire department could could turn pumps on.
Why did the farms and pineapple plantations close? Because the US government decided to allow cheaper imports of produce from the Philippines, Brazil, Costa Rica etc.
Farming went away, grass took over. And dozens of other failures.
And finally, it all caught up with them.
Much of Maui was built long before building codes were part of the planned development. Construction materials, electrical, and insulation codes did not exist when Maui was built. Being in a tropical climate without many storms, construction plans and materials were used haphazardly at best due to climate and cost considerations. Climate change has nothing to do with the recent event as a low key lifestyle was of most importance for many years. The unexpected was never a consideration in the communities’ development.
Geez. Never thought would be said outloud! 😂😂😂😂. Fidiots!

Pretty much lines up with what the article says, government was the real problem.
Actually, im pretty sure the other fires were in upcountry,, not in any x fields
And lahaina ,,, where the fire started , was also in a place were it wasn’t an x sugar cane or pineapple field.
And the non native grasses were no drier than the native grasses.
The Whole California grasses thing is just a distraction narrative to pin on climate change and avoid the subject of poor dem controlled local government emergency preparedness planning before , durring and after the fire imho.
To be fair, it was North Korean...
You would think that people spending so much time concerned about global warming would spend a little time concerned about non-native plants that can cause huge problems growing in the wrong place.
Right now they’re blaming the power company and climate change. That’s their story and they’ll stick to it.
Developers already trying a land grab. Biden’s response would lead you to believe he is in on it.
I just want to know how the fire(s) started in the first place.
Human caused CO2 emissions does not consider that the total amount of CO2 produced by man for the whole of the industrial age. It is just 0.00022% in relation to the total tonnage of atmosphere. If one knew the math these globul warming weenies would go into limp mode.
Pro-human induced global warming scientists exaggerate the contribution of carbon dioxide as a major greenhouse gas in absorbing long wave earth’s radiation. To attract increased funding they are spewing misinformation which is not true. The fact is, water vapor is the single largest atmospheric greenhouse gas (2 percent by volume), Carbon dioxide is second major absorber (0.0385% by volume). Out of the total atmospheric carbon dioxide only 3 percent come from fossil fuel burning while 97 percent comes through natural processes. Water vapor absorbs in a much wider band of long wave radiation (4-8 micrometer and 12-70 micrometer bands), Carbon dioxide absorbs in narrow bands (13-16 micrometer) and ozone absorbs in a much smaller narrow band 9-10 micrometer). Thus water vapor absorbs in a much wider wave length band. It has the single largest greenhouse effect among all the greenhouse gases (calculated by Prof. S.F Singer (Atmospheric Physicist, University of Virgina).
Bottom line, you would have to kill every human being on Planet Earth to make only a 3% difference. With that reality, these globul warming weenies would be better off taking a walk down the Santa Monica Pier to catch the mothership behind the latest comet.
