Hunter Biden's attorney said Sunday a trial is "not inevitable" following the collapse of a proposed plea deal, and he does not expect new charges to be brought against his client by special prosecutor David Weiss.
Attorney General Merrick Garland on Friday elevated Weiss, the U.S. attorney in Delaware, to special counsel after a proposed plea deal between President Joe Biden's son and the Justice Department fell through in court on July 26.
Weiss has been probing Hunter Biden for alleged tax fraud and illegal firearm possession.
Attorney Abbe Lowell told "Face the Nation" host Margaret Brennan that he's "confident that if this prosecutor does what has been done for the last five years," there will be no new charges.
"There's no new evidence to be found," Lowell told Brennan. "Some of these transactions are years old. They've had people in the grand jury. They've had data that was provided to them.

Weiss will drag this out until he feels he has been paid enough, then announce that no reasonable prosecutor will go near this. Hillary 2.0.
Hunter don’t have very many friends but Garland managed to find one. Another US “justus” system coverup and farce in progress.
How could they, they let the major violations statute of limitations run. That clown should be charged with criminal malfeasance.
Weiss is a loyal appartchik. He will do absolutely nothing that would harm or discomfit the Democratic Party. The Biden cabal and their globalist quest will not be disturbed. Hunter Biden has absolutely nothing to worry about. On the other hand decent, rational Americans who value their country, freedom and individual liberties should be very concerned. Expect no justice from the corrupt Merrick Garland or his hopelessly corrupt DOJ.
When the prosecutor and the defense attorney are both interested in letting the client off the hook, we get weiss and lowell.

They are piling some 500 (!!!) felonies on Trump, but not so much as a wrist slap on the Bidens. This from Democrats around the country who let violent criminals off without even cash bail. Serial killers get less than 100 felony charges, but the former President gets around 500. If this doesn’t make it clear the US is done, I don’t know what does.
They do it out in the open, they don’t care. They can do anything they want.

They didn’t expect the sweetheart deal to get rejected either but it did.
