Ukraine backers want Biden to amp up his pitch for the war effort to the American public

Ukraine backers on Capitol Hill are itching for President Joe Biden to step up his case for why the US should send more money to Ukraine in its fight against Russia, as warning bells sound about the American public’s support for Kyiv.

White House officials are confident the $24 billion in supplemental funding for Ukraine the president requested Thursday will ultimately get the congressional backing it needs to make it to his desk, and administration officials say they have no plans to change their message about the urgency of fighting Russian aggression against its neighbor.

But a major concern among Ukraine supporters in Congress this summer is what precarious position they might be in down the road – especially if public support falters heading into a bigger showdown over funding that could play out before year’s end.

Some of the strongest defenders of Ukraine aid on Capitol Hill have been making the case to the White House publicly and privately that they need to do more to explain the strategic benefits of sending US money abroad. Among them is Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who has gone out of his way to try and tamp down concern abroad that Republicans are losing interest in backing the effort.

All they've got is the completely discredited "domino theory".

Too bad for them they have totally squandered all credibility on BS stories for myriad wars with no real US interests at stake.

People are tired of it, and by a large margin.

Please make more of a campaign issue out of the war than it already is. With the American voter, assuming a little truth seeps out, Trump’s position will be massively popular.

“discredited domino theory”?!? What in the world are you talking about. East Germany, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia….. Hell, there’s only one domino left.

Ukraine backers on Capitol Hill are itching for President Joe Biden to step up his case for why the US should send more money to Ukraine ...

If they really 'cared' they would call Hunter and offer him a few million dollars to get his Daddy moving... Grease the hand is the Biden way...

It’s all about Joe and Hunter getting their 10% otherwise the war would have been over a long time ago.

$24,000,000,000 for Ukraine.

That kind of money could buy a lot of fire trucks for Hawaii.

A recent CNN poll shows 55% of Americans don't support more aid to Ukraine. It's already a majority position, and it's only going to get more so with each new multi-billion dollar package Biden requests/Congress approves.

Whoever the Republican presidential nominee is next year has a huge opening against Joe Biden on the issue, I just hope they're willing to use it, and not be afraid of the mainstream media's predictable "you must support Russia!" squawking.

The corrupt regime using Zelensky as their puppet own the Biden Crime Family 100% by blackmail.

The billions will keep flowing, the soldiers will keep dying.

DeSantis caved to his donors on Ukraine.

So we can expect the same from DC Republican douches.

The Republicans are not about to use Ukraine against Joe. The Republicans are making money from the graft and bloodshed also.

No doubt in my mind Russia could put that dog (Ukraine) down if they really wanted too.

But this prolonged conflict is working out good for Russia.

It has bolstered their economy, brought the Russian citizens together, strengthened their ties with China, Iran and others while at the same time bled the US of munitions, oil reserves and added billions to our debt.

No wonder Russia is in a defensive mode.

I know. The majority of Americans will probably have no real candidate on this issue. It’s like 2008 when most Americans opposed the bank bailout, but our options were bailout supporter John McCain or bailout supporter Barack Obama.

How’s the US border doing?
Crime?
Inflation?
Banking?
CRE?

I don’t want a single penny taken from me to be used in the killing of men I have no quarrel with.
