What a great idea! Raise prices right at the moment people are leaving your service in droves. Their woke policies caused me to cancel my subscription. The price increase just confirms I made the right decision.
Also, does it make sense for a family of four to spend $1000 for entry fees, food, and one night’s stay at Disneyworld/Disneyland? I don’t think so.
Every studio trying to have their own streaming service was an unsustainable model even before the woke is factored in.
Saying “we’re sorry; we messed up” to their traditional audience, and committing to producing entertainment that they used to associate with Disney would rake in billions. Actually following through would rake in billions more. But I don’t think the current management is capable of making those simple choices. They’d sooner run the company into the ground.
Raise the subscription 27%? All they are going to do is train users to join for one month, binge watch then leave, waiting until the streaming service has another group of videos to watch….. wash, rinse, repeat…..
The next blow will fall when the Micky Mouse copyright (finally) expires in 2024. Congress has shamelessly stepped in at least twice before to enact legislation to extend it, but perhaps — and hopefully — not this time.

Cable TV suppliers must charge $70-$80/month, often bundled with other services. They buy/distribute content from channels that also have advertising.
Hulu will raise its monthly rate $18 for commercial-free service. How do they get away with offering it so cheaply? (even then, they still lose money)
Is it because they don’t have to invest in infrastructure like cable in the ground, trucks and installation teams?
