Fox News host Sean Hannity closed out a discussion about abortion by suggesting the Republican Party is too far to the right on the issue as far as the rest of the country is concerned.
Hannity pointed to Tuesday’s vote in Ohio, where voters rejected a ballot measure (57% to 43%) that would have raised the threshold for amending the state’s constitution from a simple majority to 60%. Supporters of the initiative hoped it would pass to thwart a November ballot measure that, if approved, will enshrine abortion protections in Ohio’s constitution.
“We saw the vote in Ohio,” he told guests Mike Huckabee and Tudor Dixon on Thursday before floating the idea that abortion bans before 15 weeks of pregnancy repel some voters. “The fear among many, many conservatives is this will chase away many suburban voters. Do you agree with that, Mike Huckabee?”
Huckabee rejected this and suggested Republicans simply have a messaging problem.

Its amazing that so many people think it is OK to murder your babies and are willing to make that your main reason to vote a certain way.
I for one am overjoyed when a life is saved and I firmly believe Americans are not baby killers. Turning the murder of a child into a medical procedure is not something a majority of Americans believe in doing in my opinion. Democrats hate anything alive so that is one group of murderers but democrats are not a majority. Lies and liars constantly bombard US. The truth is seldom told and when the truth is told a liar steps forth to tell a lie.
Totally agree.
Quit listening to H amity long ago. Gave up on faux news this week. What is worse? fake news or no news? Good news comes form the Bible.
Compromising with human life is the devil’s handiwork……
….good mercy I can’t believe what some of you are saying!!!!!
He used to be on the radio here during my commute home. I don’t know how many times I heard his “conservatives are sexist, racist, homophobic, xenophobic, and want dirty air and water and to throw grandma under the bus” routine at the very moment I was turning onto the Illinois Tollway.
I’d like to know facts. Has abortion decreased since row vs wade went away. To me that is the most important fact. If they went down, we won regardless of losing election after election. If we increased abortions as a country then it was a lose lose.

“But, voting and the political system, is how we make laws and policies in our country. We have to deal with that.”
Correct. There are numerous issues to consider when voting. Maybe you vote for the candidate you dislike the most, or maybe you vote more for the part than the candidate.
Maybe you can’t stand our open borders so you vote for the pro-border candidate regardless of their other positions.
The border issue might not be a moral one but the future of our country and our children might hinge on it.
Baby murder is wrong. And abortion is baby murder. There is no sugar coating it.
It should be borne in mind that Social Security payouts between age 65 and 70 might be based on your children’s FICA contributions. If you abort your baby, it won’t be paying FICA taxation to support you in your old age. And come 40 years from now, Hispanics and Muslims will be the controlling voters, not white females. The Catholic and Muslim religions frown on abortion.
Had Roe v. Wade not happened, both Medicare and Social Security benefits could be and would be higher because about 50 million more people would be paying FICA taxation.
Abortion is not just a murder of a baby, it is an attack on Social Security and Medicare financing.

I would vote against it because it's a DUMB IDEA, irregardless of abortion. Why would I want to limit the possibility of an amendment to switch off state income tax (I don't live in Ohio but have traveled it) and go to an FL or TN model? Simple majority would carry a bunch of Midwest states to this model, 60% ain't happening.
Nothing gets between Hannity and his paycheck.
“It is now radical to stop women from murdering babies. What a crappy society we live in.”
Actually it is now radical to stop doctors hired by women from murdering babies. What a crappy society we live in.
Abortionist are murderers for HIRE. “HIT” men.
“Traditionally, we use man to refer to all human beings, male and female, usually in contrast with other animals.”
If you “Duck” or “Google” this you will find that “they” say it was a THOUSAND years ago when man meant both.
NUTS! It was in the seventies when it started to change. First was fireman to fireperson or firefighter, then flagman to flagger etc.
Waiter and waitress became “server”.
Sex became “gender”.
STOP LETTING THE LEFT CHANGE OUR LANGUAGE!
As Rush always said, “Words mean things”.
Different words mean different things.
I don’t think it’s proven we’re losing election after election over Roe by any means
We’re losing in purple states over fraud
And freepers hate to accept we have a lot of lefties and wine voters now
Immigration complexion shift and brainwashed generations increasingly so post boomers two main reasons
And mother became “birthing person”.
Pregnant women are supposed to be called “pregnant people”, because it offends the sensibilities of the activists to suggest, that women are the ones who can be pregnant.
A fan of his encouraged me to listen. I simply couldn't. As a commentator he is re-re-repitious, and as an interviewer he in-in-interupts with such frequency that it was not possible for me to tolerate. His is not conservative commentary so much as an imitation of it, to my view. Best wishes.
I think it’s less that we are radical and more that some of our activists have no political commonsense. There is only so much you can do on this issue. The majority do not want to ban abortion outright.
I’d have voted against anything that made it harder for the people to exact their will in government. Any side arguments about abortion or anything else are just distraction. Changing it so a proposition needs 60% of votes to pass is just removing the voice of the people from the government. Though I will admit it would have been quite funny for it to pass with 52%. That was just a bogus bill.
It’s amazing to me how many completely miss the abortion debate. Roe vs. Wade was about taking the power away from the states and people. Dobbs is about giving it back.
All it did was move the debate back to where it belongs. You will have elections where for whatever reason, stupid and immoral people gain the upper hand and other elections where morality prevails. It is inevitable. But now at least, there is a possibility of controlling the number of abortions in some states.
Victory was taking the decision from black robed tyrants. That could be and was achieved.
It would be good it abortion went the way of slavery, but even now slavery is still practiced, not only in barbaric nations, but right here among the supposed elite in the form of human trafficking.
Ironically, slavery was defeated in civilized societies largely by a revival of religious faith in the 19th century. Does anyone actually believe a great evil like abortion will be defeated by today’s moral idiots?
