Former President Donald Trump has many reasons to avoid the Republican primary debates. The quality of the Republican field ranks near the top of the list.
But the former president has made a decision that could prevent him from participating in the debates even if he wished.
According to Fox News, Trump told Newsmax’s Eric Bolling on Wednesday that he will not pledge his unconditional support for the GOP’s eventual nominee.
“I can name three or four people that I wouldn’t support for president,” Trump said of his fellow candidates. “So right there, there’s a problem, OK?”

And their "pledge" is just nonsense.
Because John Kasich "pledged" and didn't support the Republican nominee in either 2016 and 2020.
Same with Carly Fiorina and Jeb! etc.
Who would waste expensive broadcast time carrying that? No one will watch.
Wait, Wait Wait, are you saying or suggesting that Kasich, Fiorina and Jeb ALL LIED about their willingness to support the eventual Republican nominee??
How could that be? I mean Republican RINOs, Swamp Rats, etc. would NEVER LIE TO THEIR constituents would they????
Yea Right, THEY LIED EVERY DAMNED DAY!!!!!
Very same thing was said about Gropin’ Joe, no?
Here is the latest pic of that field.
What stands for debates today is a joke.
Frankly we’re better off without them.
And just whose problem is this; who will be in difficulty because of it?
Well if he doesn’t qualify then no one will watch.
Trump is dominating the polls. He has no reason to bother wasting his time there.
If there is such a thing as a 2024 fair election President Trump will win it:
Third party , fourth party, write in it will not matter as long as the stealers do not dis/count our vote
One reads:
"The Western Journal and its parent company Liftable Media are 100 percent owned by members of the Brown family, with no outside investors, grants or funding. The Western Journal is funded by paid advertising, subscriptions and donations to provide a credible news source for our readers."It;s address is a PO Box: P.O. Its other business is media of various kinds: https://watch.liftable.tv/pages/home-2/d/on-demand
I suspect the editorial position -- "Trump Will Not Qualify for GOP Debates if He Sticks to His Convictions: -- is akin to some of the never;Trumpers.
Of the commentary, one notes that Western Journal is citing "According to Fox News, Trump told Newsmax’s Eric Bolling...."
I don't disagree with the direction of the editorial per se, but find it fascinating that today many online entities repackage another's news and present it as theirs in some kind of op-ed or paraphrase.
“’There’s a Problem’: Trump Will Not Qualify for GOP Debates if He Sticks to His Convictions
“
the fool who wrote this article doesn’t have a clue that this is Trump’s way of bowing out of debates designed solely to attack him ...
This is Trump’s bBrilliant way to avoid participating in the primary debates!
Trump: “Gee, I WANTED to participate, but they wouldn’t let me.”
Trump continues to demonstrate what a political genius he is!
Trump should definitely skip these phony-baloney “debates” populated by a whole bunch of do-nothing, no-nothing RINO ankle-biters ... Trump has no need to prove himself in debates, as he already has appeared in at least two dozen national debates already, and most recently nationally debated CNN “moderator” hard-leftist Kaitlan Collins and destroyed her!
Additionally, Trump’s positions and promised actions have been repeatedly articulated in VERY specific detail in dozens of rallies, most of which have been nationally televised by multiple outlets ...
Trump also has a well-documented record of amazing accomplishments in his four years as President ...
This giant amongst men gains nothing by standing on stage with a crowd of RINO loud-mouth Lilliputians while being targeted by fascist corporate media “moderators” who themselves attempt to debate Trump under the guise of hurling gotcha questions at him ...
When Trump rightfully refuses to attend these farcical “debates”, they become meaningless and pointless exercises, and after the first few minutes of the first “debate”, almost no one will ever tune in again ...
I don’t see a point for Trump to debate. He was already President, he did everything to help our country move forward. What will any of the candidates do different than Trump? Send nicer tweets?
I WILL NOT VOTE FOR PENCE, CHRISTIE OR ASA HUTCHUNSON. PUNTO
PERIOD.
They ate just creatures of the Deep State and Biden Lite.
Trump should NOT sign the pledge.
I don’t see the problem.
The debates are going to be a ratings disaster without Trump.
It is going to be to watch what they try to do about that.
Vivek is going to try to act like a younger, more intellectual, Indian Trump. To some degree, he will be successful in that he will make the others on stage look stupid and weak.
Then they are going to have beg Trump to take part in debates in the future in the hope that he slaps down Vivek.
Tell RONNA MCDANIEL TO STICK IT!
Did all the rest sign? Is Christie, Asa, Pence, and DeSantis pledging to support Trump when he wins? What kind of two faced piece of crap pukes garbage all over someone and then pledges to support them?
Normally, ducking a debate hurts, if not kills a candidate, and drives his supporters to other candidates. Hard to see that with Trump.
The people who, like me, supported Trump in the past, see no reason to question our support. Trumps new supporters (mostly those who gave up on DeSantis), are likely with Trump as much to teach the Democrats a lesson, for weaponizing the DOJ against political candidates that they may not like.
He can have a rally at the time of the "debate".
