Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has gently nudged his Republican counterparts in the House of Representatives to pump the brakes on chatter of impeaching President Biden.
“I said two years ago, when we had not one but two impeachments, that once we go down this path it incentivizes the other side to do the same thing,” McConnell told the New York Times in an interview published Tuesday.
“Impeachment ought to be rare,” he added. “This is not good for the country.”
A growing number of House Republicans have called for Biden’s impeachment, with most of them citing the border crisis and his involvement in influence-peddling by his son Hunter.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) called Monday night for the president to “give us his bank statements” to prove he did not profit from his offspring’s endeavors.
“I think there’s enough proof out there that this Biden family needs to come forward and show there wasn’t a pay-to-play,” McCarthy told Fox News’ Sean Hannity.
The often quiet-spoken and at times enigmatic McConnell has not always been in sync with his House GOP counterparts.
Last year, for instance, he enabled passage of a $1.7 trillion omnibus spending package, much to the chagrin of lower chamber Republicans who wanted to use a potential government shutdown as leverage for fiscal concessions. ***

By having an “ impeachment inquiry “, McCarthy knows that the House committees will be able to obtain documents, and issue subpoenas, that are impossible otherwise by a stonewalling Deep State.
McConnell realizes this. He’s just posturing for his pals in the uni-party, and the Fake News conglomerate.
Retire, turtle.
He is a turtle
And yet they keep reelecting him.
Since when does McTurtle care about “the good of the country.”
Mr. Chinese Shipping Magnate is one to speak on what’s good for the country...
Mitch is fine with Biden taking bribes from our enemies with no accountability.
You had better believe that Biden had an insurance policy. He was never the brightest bulb, but he always had a low criminal cunning, and implicating a few bigwig Republicans would be just the normal course of business for Washington.
McConnell is guilty of quid pro quo influence peddling and worse. As he was being booed, and drowned out by the Kentucky crowd chanting “retire”, I felt no pity. But I DID get the urge to beat the snot out of that old man!
His net worth has increased over 150 million since his first election in 1984. Hmmm...
No such think as decertifying...geez...grow up...Biden is President. Trump lost and we lost in 2022, too.

Former Vice President Mike Pence’s ex-National Security Advisor Keith Kellogg said Monday that the 2024 hopeful is ‘unworthy’ of the presidency and threw his support behind Donald Trump.
Kellogg issued a blistering statement on Trump’s Truth Social network, explaining that he was disappointed in some of Pence’s recent actions.

Not good for the Beltway. They are all in on the schemes. Just look at Merrick Garlands family and their racket in education. The corruption is everywhere. Biden isn’t even very good at it.
They don't care that the treasonous, corrupt, depraved pedo is, truly, destroying the Republic.
They are in on the grift, too and everything works smoothly, with Pedo Joe in office.
If that is the standard, Mitch isn’t good for the country.
What country, China Mitch?
What Mumbles means is, it’s not good for him blackmail-wise.
Maybe McCarthy can ask Mitch why Ex Ohio senator Rob rino Portman went to Ukraine 10 times since 2014.
BOOOOOO - RETIRE, RETIRE, RETIRE - BOOOOOO
Who cares? Do it anyway.
That was great
