Maksym Bunchukov remembers hearing rockets explode in Zaporizhzhia as the war in Ukraine began.
“It was terrible,” he said. He and his wife sent their adult daughter west to Lviv for safety and joined her later with their pets.
Now, about 18 months after the war broke out, Bunchukov is in North Dakota, like thousands of Ukrainians who came over a century ago.
He is one of 16 new arrivals who are part of a trade group’s pilot effort through the Uniting for Ukraine humanitarian program to recruit refugees and migrants during a workforce shortage. Twelve more Ukrainians are scheduled to arrive by Aug. 15 as part of the North Dakota Petroleum Council’s Bakken Global Recruitment of Oilfield Workers program.

I believe the unemployment rate in North Dakota is 2.5%.
And I am not sure many of those that are unemployed are people you really want to hire.
Didn’t Zelenskyy order all men and transvestites, 6 to 60 to report to the front?
More jobs Americans won’t get.
I would take 1,000 Ukrainians (or Russians) over a single Muslim.
They’re coming to Atlanta also. A very nice family of them just came to buy a dresser from us we had listed on Craigslist. Let them all come to counter act the gazillion Somalians and Nigerian and Muslim animals that have been imported. Not to mention every mestizo Indian in central America.
There’s nothing to help Americans trapped in the Joe Biden regime......😜
Here’s an idea - how about the North Dakota Petroleum Council instead take this money and invest it in local scholarships for trade schools so Americans can have these jobs some day. You remember Americans, don’t you North Dakota Petroleum Council?
It gets worse. Young single Ukrainian women are displacing flabby tattooed hambeasts in strip clubs across the country.
It was just last week American oil field workers were being laid off.
No he didn’t. You really ought to try reading some stuff that isn’t Muscovy vranyo.
Mobilisation has a lot of exceptions for deferment - reserved workers (not all professions) - men with disabilities, parents with three or more minor children, single parents, parents of a child with a disability or serious illnesses, and parents raising an adult child with a disability.
Many fathers accompanied their families out of Eastern Ukraine to Lviv and Poland to ensure their safety before going back to sign up.
Unlike Russia, Ukraine knows that it’ll need its skilled labor when the war is finished. Putin’s throwing anyone he can at the front lines which is why Russians with transferrable skills who aren’t Muscovites have fled Russia to avoid its draft.
There is no labor shortage in Williston. I was there six weeks ago and there’s more Mexicans than you can shake a stick at. I lived in Phoenix, AZ for 30 years and I thought I was back.
I guess the Walmart in Williston will have to dedicate and aisle to Ukrainian food next to the two aisles dedicated to Mexican food.
Would be nice for a change to see fit women around everywhere instead of suffering the view of what seems to be mostly “PORKERS”.
“Ukrainians find refuge in North Dakota as arrivals fill oil field jobs amid labor shortage..”
When Biden finds out he’ll put an end to it.
Yep.
A polite well-dressed Ukrainian couple are moving next door. Likable, but we have that language problem. A friend of mine speaks several languages including Russian. Will ask her whether she can communicate with them. They’re apparently being resettled by some agency. Pretty young woman brought them here.
This is frightful! Flabby tattooed hambeasts have to make a living too, you know.
They leave The West behind.
"Meet me in the oil fields of the North Dakota!"
why arent they fighting Ruzzians?
